Examination of the body

Laryngoscopy

Laryngoscopy is the main type of examination of the larynx. The difficulty of this method is that the longitudinal axis of the larynx is located at a right angle to the axis of the oral cavity, which is why the larynx cannot be examined in the usual way.

Laryngeal stroboscopy

Laryngeal stroboscopy is one of the most important methods for studying the movements of the vocal folds, allowing for the visualization of their natural movements in a form adequate for visual perception.

Laryngeal examination

When meeting a patient complaining of a sore throat or difficulty breathing, the doctor first assesses his general condition, the respiratory function of the larynx, predicts the possibility of stenosis and asphyxia and, if indicated, provides emergency care to the patient.

Functional examination of the larynx

In clinical examination of laryngeal functions, changes in breathing and voice formation are considered first and foremost, as well as the use of a number of laboratory and functional methods. A number of special methods are used in phoniatrics - a section of laryngology that studies pathological conditions of the vocal function.

Pharyngeal examination

Examination of the pharynx includes a number of procedures aimed at identifying both local and manifestations of general diseases, as well as pathological conditions caused by impaired innervation of the organs of the oral cavity and pharynx.

Olfactory examination

The study of the olfactory function is given great importance as a very effective method of diagnosing diseases of the PNS and CNS. Many of the so-called essential anosmia or "parosmia" can be associated with certain organic diseases of the intracranial structures, directly or indirectly related to the olfactory centers and their conductors.

Examination of the respiratory function of the nose

A person suffering from nasal breathing problems can be identified at first glance. If this deficiency has accompanied him since early childhood (chronic adenoiditis), then signs of nasal respiratory failure are detected with a quick examination of the face.

Studies of the anterior and posterior paranasal sinuses

The anterior paranasal sinuses include the frontal and maxillary sinuses, as well as the anterior cells of the ethmoid labyrinth.

Peculiarities of gynecologic examination of children and adolescents

Examination of girls with various gynecological diseases is divided into general and special. When conducting a general examination, it is necessary to take into account that a number of somatic diseases can be a direct cause of damage to the reproductive system.

Abdominal puncture through the posterior vaginal arch

An indication for puncture through the posterior vaginal fornix is a suspicion of the presence of free fluid in the pelvic cavity to clarify the diagnosis of an ectopic pregnancy, with an unclear clinical picture.
