Body temperature

The body temperature in the armpit is considered normal if it is between 36 and 37 °C and fluctuates between several tenths and 1 °C during the day. A noticeable decrease in it is rarely observed (general exhaustion of the body, heart failure, intoxication with some toxic substances, endocrine disorders).

Facial expression

Facial expression depends not only on the patient's mental state, but also on the skin color associated with various cytological processes, the appearance of the eyes, nose, lips, teeth, cheeks, and the presence of rashes. In a number of diseases, the face acquires a characteristic appearance.

Syncope (loss of consciousness)

Most episodes of short-term loss of consciousness are associated with fainting (syncope) or, less commonly, epilepsy. When recovering from this condition, satisfactory or good health returns fairly quickly.

Comatose states

Coma states occur with significant shifts in the homeostasis system, which is most often caused by severe damage to internal organs. The most common are: uremic, hepatic, diabetic (ketoacidotic, hypoglycemic) coma, coma with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and alcoholic coma.

A disturbance of consciousness

Consciousness is a complex philosophical concept used in a variety of fields of knowledge (for example, legal, historical consciousness, etc.). In medicine, the concept of consciousness is one of the fundamental ones. Impaired consciousness is understood as a disorder in the reflection of the environment, objects, phenomena and their connections, manifested by the complete impossibility or indistinctness of perception of the environment, disorientation in time, place, surrounding people, one's own personality, incoherence of thinking.
