Infectious and parasitic diseases

Chikungunya fever

Chikungunya fever is an acute transmissible disease characterized by fever, intoxication and hemorrhagic syndrome.

Kyasanurus forest disease

Kyasanur forest disease (KFD) is an acute viral zoonotic infection of humans, which occurs with severe intoxication, often with biphasic fever, and is accompanied by severe hemorrhagic syndrome and prolonged asthenic manifestations.

Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever

Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever was first described based on materials from an outbreak in Crimea (Chumakov M.P., 1944-1947), and was therefore called Crimean hemorrhagic fever (CHF). Later, cases of a similar disease were registered in Congo (1956), where in 1969 a virus similar in antigenic properties to the Crimean hemorrhagic fever virus was isolated.

Rift Valley hemorrhagic fever.

Rift Valley hemorrhagic fever is a zoonosis and is primarily seen in various animals, but much less commonly causes severe disease in humans with high mortality.

Hemorrhagic fevers of the family Bunyaviridae

The Bunyaviridae family comprises more than 250 serotypes of viruses, which are part of five genera: Bunyavirus, Phlebovirus, Nairovirus, Hantavirus, Tospovirus. The typical viruses of these genera are: Bunyamwera virus, Sicily mosquito fever virus, Nairobi sheep disease virus and Hantaan virus, respectively.

South American hemorrhagic fevers

South American hemorrhagic fevers (Argentine, Bolivian, Venezuelan) are common only in these regions and pose a serious problem for local health authorities.

Laos fever

Laos fever is an acute zoonotic natural focal viral disease from the group of especially dangerous viral infections of Africa. It is characterized by the phenomena of universal capillary toxicosis, damage to the liver, kidneys, central nervous system, high mortality. Clinically, it is manifested by fever, hemorrhagic syndrome, and the development of renal failure.

Viral hemorrhagic fevers

Viral hemorrhagic fevers are a group of special natural focal infectious diseases that are registered on all continents of the world except Australia. The diseases are characterized by specific damage to the hemostasis system (vascular, platelet and plasma links) of a person, multiple organ pathology with the development of pronounced hemorrhagic and intoxication syndromes, and high mortality.

Myiasis: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Myiasis is an invasion by the larvae of certain species of flies and gadflies; it is characterized by polymorphism of clinical manifestations depending on the localization of the parasite.

Tungiosis: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Tungiasis is a parasitic disease caused by the sand flea, characterized by the development of an allergic reaction, pain and an erythematous papule.
