Diseases of the skin and subcutaneous tissue (dermatology)

Microsporia: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Microsporia is a disease affecting the skin and hair, most often observed in children. Microsporia pathogens are divided into anthropophiles, zoophiles and geophiles by etiology.

Trichophytosis

Trichophytosis is a fungal skin disease caused by fungi of the genus Trichophyton. According to the ecological characteristics of the pathogens, anthropophilic (affects only humans), zooanthroponotic (affects humans, farm animals and wild animals) and geophilic (affects humans and animals sporadically) trichophytosis are distinguished.

Varicolored (papillary) lichen planus

The causative agent of the disease is Mallasseria furfur. Versicolor lichen occurs as a result of the transformation of the saprophylactic form into a pathogenic one or infection from the outside. The development of versicolor lichen is facilitated by a weakened immune system, increased sweating, and endocrine disorders.

Fungal skin diseases

Skin diseases caused by pathogenic fungi are called dermatomycosis. Fungi affect the skin, hair, nail plates and internal organs. There are several classifications of fungal skin diseases. Some are based on the genus and species of fungi, others - on the location of the pathological process.

Benign granuloma on a pedicle.

Some scientists believe that pyogenic granuloma is a specific form of pyoderma. Some dermatologists consider it a capillary hemangioma with a secondary granulomatous reaction. In recent years, it has been suggested that the disease is based on angioblastoma, which is accompanied by a bacterial infection.

Cutaneous changes in leprosy

Leprosy (Hansen's disease) is a chronic infectious disease caused by mycobacterium leprae. Men are more often affected. Blacks are more prone to leprosy, but the disease is milder in them.

Skin tuberculosis

Tuberculosis of the skin is a chronic disease with exacerbations and relapses. Factors contributing to the development of exacerbations and relapses are insufficient duration of the main course of treatment, inadequacy of anti-relapse treatment, poor tolerance of anti-tuberculosis drugs, and developing resistance of mycobacteria strains to them.

Toxiderma

Toxicoderma (toxicoderma) is a general toxic-allergic disease with predominant manifestations on the skin and mucous membranes, arising as a result of hematogenous spread of chemical (medicinal, less often protein allergens) that have entered the body by ingestion or parenteral administration, by inhalation or by massive resorption through the skin and mucous membrane.

Dermatitis

Dermatitis is the most common skin pathology caused by the constant impact of various environmental factors both in everyday life and in the conditions of large-scale industrial production and agriculture.

Neurodermatitis

Neurodermatitis is a group of allergic dermatoses and is the most common skin disease. In recent decades, its incidence has tended to increase.
