Diseases of the skin and subcutaneous tissue (dermatology)

Non-infectious dermatoses

They are quite common and are caused mainly by contact of the population with plants and their products. They are called plant dermatitis (forest, jungle). The most common are mango, pineapple, primrose, polyandre, beech, tobacco, poison ivy, etc., phytodermatitis.

Skin lesions caused by venomous snakes, mollusks, leeches, actiniae

Of the poisonous snakes, the most dangerous are bites from cobras, spectacled snakes, vipers, and some sea snakes. Their bites (usually on the arms and legs) are accompanied by local pain, increasing swelling of the affected limb, sometimes spreading to the body.

Skin lesions caused by arthropods

Crustaceans (sea shallow-water crustaceans Cymothoidea) cause painful bites by attaching to a person's hands or feet. At the sites of their attachment, pinpoint bleeding appears, and later the clinical picture of dermatitis develops, which regresses within a week.

Occupational skin diseases

Occupational dermatoses account for up to 80% of occupational pathologies and arise as a result of the harmful effects of various production factors.

Features of eczema in children

In the development of eczema in children, constitutional anomalies play an important role - allergic (syn.: exudative-catarrhal) and other diatheses. As is known, diathesis is a special form of hereditary predisposition of the body to certain pathological conditions and diseases, characterized by an unusual reaction of the body to physiological stimuli and normal living conditions.

Seborrheic eczema

Seborrheic eczema (synonyms: seborrheic dermatitis, dysseborrheic dermatitis, Unna's disease) is a chronic skin disease, which is based on a violation of the secretory function of the sebaceous glands, which is detected in areas of the skin rich in sebaceous glands.

Dyshidrotic eczema

The terms "dyshidrosis" and "pompholyx" are also used to describe dyshidrotic eczema. Dyshidrotic eczema accounts for 20-25% of cases of palmar eczema.

Coin-shaped eczema

Nummular eczema is a form of eczema characterized by the presence of often generalized, intensely itchy, rounded (coin-shaped) areas of eczematous inflammation.

Eczema of the palms

Palmar eczema is a common, often chronic condition with many causative and contributing factors. Palmar eczema can be categorized as irritant eczema; exfoliative eczema; atopic eczema; fingertip eczema; allergic eczema; hyperkeratotic eczema; nummular eczema.

Chronic eczema

Skin affected by chronic eczematous inflammation is inflamed, hyperemic, thickened and prone to peeling.
