Diseases of the skin and subcutaneous tissue (dermatology)

Histiocytosis X skin: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Histiocytosis X (syn.: histiocytic medullary reticulosis, malignant reticulohistiocytosis). Langerhans cell histiocytoses are a group that includes Letterer-Siwe disease, Hand-Schüller-Christian disease, eosinophilic granuloma

Pedjetoid reticulosis: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Pagetoid reticulosis (syn. Woringer-Kolopp disease). Described by FR Woringer and P. Kolopp in 1939. The term "Pagetoid reticulosis" was introduced by O. Biaun-Falco et al. in 1973, based on the observed invasion of the lower layers of the epidermis by atypical cells with light cytoplasm, resembling Paget cells in appearance.

Cesari syndrome

Sezary syndrome is an erythrodermic form of cutaneous T-cell malignant lymphoma with an increased number of large atypical lymphocytes with cerebriform nuclei in the peripheral blood.

Mycosis fungoides

Mycosis fungoides is a low-grade T-cell lymphoma. This disease is characterized by primary skin lesions that last for a long time without affecting the lymph nodes and internal organs. The latter are affected mainly in the final stage of the disease.

Lymphocytic papulosis: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

The first description of the disease lymphocytic papulosis belongs to A. Dupont (1965). In 1968 WL Macauly introduced the term "lymphomatoid papulosis" for long-term, benign, self-healing papular rashes that have a malignant histological appearance.

Pseudolymphoma of the skin: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Pseudolymphomas of the skin are a group of benign lymphoproliferative processes of a reactive nature of a local or disseminated type, which can resolve after removal of the damaging agent or non-aggressive therapy.

Lymphoproliferative skin diseases: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

The diagnostic evaluation of benign and malignant lymphoproliferative skin diseases is a very difficult task for the pathologist. In recent decades, significant progress has been made in this area due to advances in immunology.

Neurinoma (schwannoma): causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Neurilemoma (syn.: neurinoma, schwannoma) is a benign tumor of neurolemmocytes of cranial or spinal peripheral nerves. It is localized in the subcutaneous tissue of the head, trunk and limbs along the course of the nerve trunks.

Skin neuroma: causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Neuroma of the skin is a tumor-like growth of nerve tissue. There are traumatic, idiopathic (solitary or multiple) and multiple neuroma of the mucous membranes. The latter is the result of multiple endocrine neoplasia type 26.

Hemangioendothelioma (angiosarcoma): causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Hemangioendothelioma (syn. angiosarcoma) is a malignant tumor originating from the endothelial elements of blood and lymphatic vessels. W. F. Lever and O. Sehaurnburg-Lever (1983) distinguish two types of this tumor: angiosarcoma, developing on the head and face in elderly individuals, and secondary angiosarcoma, occurring in chronic lymphatic edema (Stewart-Treves syndrome).
