Diseases of the genitourinary system

Genitourinary fistula

Urogenital fistulas most often occur as a result of trauma to the urinary system in obstetric and gynecological practice. In developing countries (e.g., in Africa), obstetric urogenital fistulas are more common.

Urothelial fistulas

Due to the high prevalence of colon diseases, as well as the increase in the number of open and endoscopic operations on the prostate and bladder, ureteral fistulas are most frequently observed.

Fistulas after radiation therapy (post-radiation fistulas)

Fistulas after radiation therapy, or post-radiation fistulas, occur as a result of exceeding the permissible radiation load, failure to observe intervals between sessions, disruption of vascularization of the genitourinary organs, as well as increased individual sensitivity to ionizing rays.

Open injuries to the penis

Open trauma to the penis is often combined with trauma to other organs, including the genitourinary system. Open trauma to the penis in children most often occurs when playing with sharp objects or when falling on them.

Penile contusion and dislocation.

Contusion and dislocation of the penis occur for a variety of reasons. Most often, it is a consequence of blows during training in gyms, falls, blows during a fight.

Gunshot wounds to the penis

All gunshot wounds to the penis are combined with damage to the external genitalia in 1/3 of cases. With such wounds, the urethra, scrotum, testicles, thighs, bones and pelvic organs may be damaged along with the cavernous bodies.

Penis fracture

A fracture of the penis is accompanied by a characteristic cracking sound of the rupture of the cavernous bodies (the sound of a plug flying out or the crunch of broken glass).

Damage and trauma to the penis

Damage and injury to the penis accounts for 50% of all damage and injury to the external genitalia, which accounts for 30-50% of all injuries to the genitourinary system.

Open injuries and trauma to the prostate and seminal vesicles

Stab-cut open injuries and trauma to the prostate and seminal vesicles occur in domestic, industrial or combat conditions when sharp piercing objects are introduced through the perineum or rectum.

Closed injuries and trauma to the prostate and seminal vesicles

Closed injuries and trauma to the prostate and seminal vesicles can occur with pelvic bone fractures, a strong blow to the perineum, or a fall on it. Bruises and ruptures of these organs are usually combined with damage to the adjacent venous plexus.
