Byssinosis is a form of reactive airway disease characterized by bronchospasm in workers exposed to cotton, flax, and hemp. The etiologic cause is unknown.
The nosological independence of Buruli ulcer due to its fairly typical clinical and epidemiological features is recognized by most authors. Buruli ulcer was named in the 60s of the last century, when a large number of its observations were first described as a local epidemic in Uganda in the province of Buruli.
"Bursting" fractures of the atlas, or Jefferson fractures, are rare. This can be judged at least by the fact that in the available literature there are descriptions of only 5 cases of such fractures of the spine.
