Injuries and poisonings

Elbow contusion

An elbow contusion in an adult, as well as an elbow contusion in a child, occurs due to a mechanical external impact that damages the elbow. The direction of the impact can be different - tangential, axial, frontal or sagittal.

Polyarthritis

Polyarthritis is an inflammation of four or more joints. It can be the main manifestation of diseases of the joints themselves, primarily RA and psoriatic arthritis, but it also occurs as one of the symptoms of a variety of rheumatic and non-rheumatic diseases.

Oligoarthritis

Oligoarthritis - inflammation of 2-3 joints - is characteristic of a large number of diseases. To confirm the inflammatory nature of oligoarthritis, a study of the cerebrospinal fluid with detection of high cytosis (>1000 in 1 μl) is of decisive importance, as well as the absence of radiographic changes characteristic of various non-inflammatory joint diseases (osteoarthritis, ischemic bone necrosis).

Bone contusion

A bone bruise is called contusion periostitis; as a rule, this injury is the result of a blow along a straight axis to the bone, and, therefore, to the periosteum, which is located quite close under the skin.

Soft tissue contusions

Soft tissue contusions or contusio are closed injuries to tissues or internal organs that do not affect or damage the skin. As a rule, soft tissue contusions do not violate the anatomical integrity of the injury area and are not accompanied by serious complications.

A bruised thumb

A finger bruise is an extremely painful injury and is wrongly considered normal and not worthy of attention. The hand, including the fingers, contains many nerve endings that transmit impulses-signals to the spinal cord almost instantly.

Severe knee contusion

A severe knee contusion is a closed injury, a trauma to one of the largest joints in the human body. The knee joint belongs to the group of condylar articulatio, which is the Latin name for joints.

Bruised ribs

A rib contusion is considered a common injury that does not have such serious consequences as a head, knee, elbow or other joint contusion. However, despite its “problem-free” nature in terms of complications, a rib contusion is accompanied by intense, prolonged pain and a long recovery period.

Joint contusion

A joint contusion is a serious injury that, unlike a soft tissue contusion, can result in hemarthrosis or hemorrhage into the joint cavity. As a rule, a joint contusion is accompanied by severe swelling and severe and long-lasting pain.

A bruised finger

A finger bruise is such a common injury that many people sometimes don't even pay attention to it. However, fingers are a concentration of many nerve endings.
