Behterev's disease: diagnosis

Early diagnostics of Bechterew's disease involves analyzing information about the presence of diseases associated with HLA-B27 in the patient's immediate relatives. And information about the presence of episodes of uveitis, psoriasis, signs of chronic inflammatory bowel diseases in the past is important for conducting a more detailed examination of the patient and determining the form of the disease.

Bechterew's disease: symptoms

Symptoms of Bechterew's disease do not depend on gender or the presence of HLA-B27. The formation of inevitable ankylosis of the spine with the formation and in some cases of kyphosis of the cervical and/or thoracic spine ("supplicant's pose") is usually preceded for many years (usually tens of years) by various symptoms of Bechterew's disease.

Treatment of rheumatoid arthritis is carried out by a rheumatologist, since the functional state of patients under the supervision of a doctor is better, and the use of modern methods of pharmacotherapy for RA requires special knowledge.
