Diseases of the joints, muscles and connective tissue (rheumatology)

Takayasu syndrome

Takayasu's syndrome is a granulomatous inflammation of the aorta and its branches. This disease is most common in women of reproductive age.

Gigantocellular arteritis

Giant cell arteritis is a granulomatous inflammation of the aorta and its branches. The disease develops in people over 50 years of age and is combined with such a disease as rheumatic polymyalgia.

Rheumatic polymyalgia

Polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) is a rheumatic disorder characterized by pain and stiffness in the neck, shoulders, and hips. It is most common in adults over 50 years of age.

Cryoglobulinemic vasculitis

Cryoglobulinemic vasculitis is a vasculitis with cryoglobulinemic immune deposits affecting small vessels (capillaries, venules, arterioles) mainly of the skin and glomeruli of the kidneys and combined with serum cryoglobulinemia. Infection with the hepatitis C virus is considered as an etiologic factor of the disease.

Septic arthritis

Septic arthritis is a rapidly progressing infectious disease of the joints caused by the direct entry of pyogenic microorganisms into the joint cavity.

Pyrophosphate arthropathy.

Pyrophosphate arthropathy, or calcium pyrophosphate dihydrate crystal deposition disease, is a disease caused by the formation and deposition of calcium pyrophosphate dihydrate crystals in connective tissue.

Gout: causes, symptoms, stages, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis

Gout is a systemic disease in which monosodium urate crystals are deposited in various tissues and in individuals with hyperuricemia, inflammation develops due to environmental and/or genetic factors.

Psoriatic arthritis

Psoriatic arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the joints, spine and entheses associated with psoriasis. Psoriatic arthritis belongs to the group of seronegative spondyloarthropathies.

Reactive arthritis in adults

Reactive arthritis of the joints is a non-purulent "sterile" inflammatory disease of the musculoskeletal system, induced by infections of extra-articular localization, primarily of the genitourinary or intestinal tract. Along with ankylosing spondylitis and psoriatic joint damage, reactive arthritis is included in the group of seronegative spondyloarthritis, which is associated with damage to the sacroiliac joints and spine.

Behterev's disease: treatment and prognosis

Treatment of Bechterew's disease has several goals - to reduce the severity of inflammation and pain, to prevent the development and progression of mobility disorders of the spine and joints.
