Cancer (oncology)

Liver cancer

Liver cancer, according to WHO, is one of the ten most common malignant tumors in the world. In Russia, liver cancer is relatively rare and accounts for 3-5% of all malignant neoplasms, which is approximately the same as in Europe and America.

Cysts: symptoms

The cyst practically does not show symptoms, at least at the initial stage of development. Signs of the tumor's appearance depend on its size, location, composition of the cavity contents, structure of the neoplasm walls and on what kind of cyst it is - congenital or acquired.

Cyst removal

Removal of a cyst, or rather the choice of method, depends on what type it is, its size and, most importantly, on the organ in which it is localized.

Cancer of the mandible

In cancer of the mucous membrane of the alveolar process, the lower jaw is predominantly affected secondarily. Primary cancer of the lower jaw, which, according to some authors, arises from the tooth germ, is extremely rare. Often, when establishing such a diagnosis, examination reveals metastases of epithelial tumors of other localizations to the lower jaw.

Cancer of the upper jaw

Most often, maxillary cancer arises from the mucous membrane of the maxillary sinus. As a rule, it is squamous cell carcinoma, but various forms of adenocarcinoma, cystadenoid carcinoma, and mucoepidermoid cancer of the maxilla can also occur.

Cancer of the lip

Lip cancer is the most common malignant tumor of the maxillofacial region. Lip cancer accounts for 1.6% of malignant neoplasms in our country.

Salivary gland cysts

Cystic lesions most often occur in the minor salivary glands, less often in the parotid and submandibular salivary glands. The provoking factor may be trauma to the gland duct, leading to its atresia and accumulation of contents. The accumulation, increasing, presses on the walls of the cavity, increasing the cavity of the salivary gland cyst.

Desmoid

In clinical practice, along with the term "desmoid", the term "aggressive fibromatosis" is equally used. The following synonyms are used less often: desmoid tumor, juvenile fibromatosis, deep fibromatosis, desmoid fibroma, invasive fibroma, muscular-aponeurotic fibromatosis.

Melanoma

Melanoma is a malignant skin neoplasm that develops from melanocytes - cells that migrate in the early embryonic period from the neuroectoderm to the skin, eyes, respiratory tract and intestines.

Rhabdomyosarcoma

Rhabdomyosarcoma is a malignant tumor originating from skeletal (striated) muscle. In about a third of cases, rhabdomyosarcoma is combined with various developmental defects: genitourinary tract (8%), central nervous system (8%), digestive system (5%), cardiovascular system (4%).
