Research of hemostasis system

Factor XII (Hageman).

Factor XII (Hageman) is a sialoglycoprotein activated by collagen, contact with a foreign surface, adrenaline, and a number of proteolytic enzymes (in particular, plasmin). Factor XII initiates intravascular coagulation; in addition, factor XIIa converts plasma prekallikreins into kallikreins. Active factor XII serves as an activator of fibrinolysis.

Activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT)

Activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) is one of the most valuable general tests for obtaining an idea of the blood coagulation system. APTT is a test that exclusively reveals plasma defects of the intrinsic system of activation of factor X in phase I (prothrombinase formation) of blood coagulation.

Platelet aggregation with ADP

The processes of platelet aggregation are studied using an aggregometer, which reflects the course of aggregation graphically in the form of a curve; ADP serves as an aggregation stimulator. Before adding the proaggregant (ADP), random oscillations of the optical density curve are possible. After adding the aggregant, oscillations appear on the curve due to changes in the shape of the platelets.

Hemostasis

The hemostasis system is a set of functional, morphological and biochemical mechanisms that ensure the maintenance of the liquid state of the blood, the prevention and stopping of bleeding, as well as the integrity of blood vessels.
