Deep facial cleansing: types of procedures and their effectiveness

One can guess how important deep facial cleansing is by remembering how many unpleasant moments were caused to everyone in adolescence by far from perfect skin, covered with inflammatory elements and blackheads. As they grew older, all these problems usually resolved themselves. True, not for everyone, which caused noticeable despair in the “lucky ones” and forced them to search for effective methods and means of skin cleansing.
They had barely managed to belatedly part with their teenage problems when age left its mark on the appearance of their once attractive face, and once again they had to somehow solve the problem, because if the eyes are the mirror of the soul, then the face is a kind of prototype of a passport, an identity card.
The situation described above is probably familiar to many. Some have observed it from the outside in relation to friends and colleagues, while others had to go through all this themselves, having tried many innovative products and procedures. Fortunately, the problem is now solved quite simply with the help of deep facial cleansing, which can be done both in a beauty salon and at home.

Indications for the procedure
In order to understand why deep facial cleansing is needed and what it gives to a woman (or man), you need to understand what kind of procedure it is that is so popular in women's circles. And its popularity is not surprising, because this simple procedure allows a woman to stay young and attractive for a long time.
It is worth immediately stopping at the fact that cleaning dust from dust and keratinized particles is considered one of the oldest cosmetic procedures. Clean, radiant skin has always been considered an indicator of health and beauty. But if earlier it was quite easy to maintain youth and natural beauty of the face, because clean air and natural food contributed to this, today it is already becoming problematic. Poor environmental conditions, the use of products stuffed with chemical additives, constant stress against the background of an unstable political and economic situation in the country have the most unfavorable effect on women's skin.
What problems can be solved with deep facial cleansing? Those problems that, according to women themselves, are the cause of their low self-esteem and lack of popularity with the male sex. Here are the most common complaints that can be eliminated with the help of cleansing procedures:
- too oily, shiny skin on the face,
- enlarged pores, which make the skin look uneven and unattractive, plus the pores very quickly become clogged with dust and inflamed,
- the presence of acne or comedones on the skin.
Typically, such symptoms bring a lot of disappointment to young girls and women under 30, forcing them to turn to gentle means and methods of facial cleansing. We are talking about superficial facial cleansing using a mechanical method (a cosmetic procedure for cleansing the skin of dead cells and acne using hands and scrubs), and less often using an ultrasonic method (removal of the stratum corneum and acne using ultrasonic waves).
A little later, the woman begins to worry about other problems:
- skin defects in the form of lipomas,
- pigment spots,
- premature loss of body elasticity associated with decreased skin tone,
- minor age-related changes that lead to skin aging.
Such cosmetic defects are typical for women aged 30-40, but even they can be dealt with by means of superficial skin cleansing. But more serious problems that arise after the age of 40 can only be dealt with by means of deep facial cleansing. Such problems include:
- deep wrinkles that are not affected by special cosmetic products with a lifting effect,
- stretch marks, which may have appeared earlier, but after 40 years became more noticeable,
- small scars on the skin as a consequence of previously undergone operations, procedures,
- keratinized areas of skin,
- age spots.
Thus, deep facial cleansing is an effective skin rejuvenation procedure for middle-aged women.
The popularity of deep facial cleansing is due to the fact that the intensity of the above-described manifestations after the procedure is noticeably reduced, giving a longer-lasting effect than after superficial skin cleansing. The whole point is that the removal of not only the upper, but also the deeper keratinized layers of the skin, cleansing clogged pores from dirt and sebum stimulates rapid and effective cell regeneration, as a result of which we have a healthy complexion, even, smooth and elastic skin. In addition, such cleansing promotes deeper and more active penetration of rejuvenating cosmetics of various consistencies into various layers of the skin.
Preparation
Whichever facial cleansing option you choose, before you begin the procedure in a beauty salon or at home, you must prepare your skin for the procedure. Despite the fact that deep facial cleansing is a cleansing procedure in itself, before using it, you must first do a superficial cleansing of the skin, which includes: removing makeup residue from the face and lips, washing with special milk or scrubs, using a cleansing mask, and toning the skin.
The cosmetologist who will perform the procedure decides which specific points should be included in the preparation for the procedure. Make-up removal is considered a mandatory procedure, because there are few women who do not use decorative cosmetics, which are not so easy to wash off with water. The use of a cleansing mask is indicated only in the case of severe contamination of the pores on the skin.
Next, special gels are applied to the face. This can be a rejuvenating agent, a moisturizing or warming gel. It all depends on the type of procedure being performed.
In order for deep mechanical cleaning of contaminated facial pores to become more effective, the skin must be steamed. The easiest way to do this is by using warm steam, because dry heat will promote dehydration, which is very undesirable. Under the influence of wet steam, the pores open due to the loosening of the horny epidermal layer.
Instead of steam, some beauty salons use a warming thermogel, which promotes natural heating of the skin and opening of its pores, without evaporating moisture from the skin's surface.
At home, you can steam your face by leaning over a bowl of hot (not boiling!) liquid. This can be water or herbal infusions. To enhance the effect, you can loosely cover your head with a towel. Alternatively, you can sit in the bathroom filled with steam from hot water for the same 10-15 minutes.
If for some reason strong heating of the skin is considered undesirable or even dangerous to health, for example, in case of asthma, increased hair growth on the body, dilated vessels or thin dry skin, the cold hydrogenation method is used. A special gel is applied to the skin of the face for 20 minutes, which softens the epidermis and promotes its deeper cleansing.
Technique deep cleansing
Deep facial cleansing can be done using various methods, the technique of which may differ slightly. It is clear that salon procedures will differ from home ones and not only in the cosmetics used.
There are some differences between professional facial peeling devices and those used at home. The equipment in salons is more powerful, because the procedure is performed by a specialist who can adjust the power and current strength so that the procedure is safe and painless.
The deep facial vacuum cleaning protocol may include the following types of procedures:
- cleansing the face with makeup remover,
- application of a rejuvenating or moisturizing gel that prevents dehydration (it is not necessary to use warming agents during vacuum and ultrasonic facial cleansing);
- the gel is left on the skin for a quarter of an hour, covering the face with a film,
- removing the gel with plain water,
- application of a special gel used for galvanic facial cleansing,
- carrying out the procedure itself using a cathode as an active electrode (has a negative charge); if necessary, during the procedure, the skin is additionally moisturized with a desincrustation lotion,
- After the procedure, the face is washed with clean water to remove any remaining gel,
- the procedure is repeated using a positively charged electrode, but instead of gel, a wet wipe is placed on the face,
- after the galvanic current manipulations are completed, a moisturizing gel with collagen and anti-inflammatory components is applied to the skin of the face,
- Additionally, for a quarter of an hour, the cosmetologist can apply a moisturizing mask or toning gel to the face,
- After the mask or gel has been removed from the skin with water, a regular moisturizer in the form of a gel or cream is applied again.
If the client has problem skin, then step 8 will be applying a toning lotion, then gels are applied to remove excess oiliness of the face. Such gels are applied under the film for 15 minutes, after which they are washed off, and the face is covered with a moisturizer and a gel for oily skin (in problem areas).
Ultrasonic and vacuum facial cleansing have a similar procedure protocol:
- face and neck make-up removal,
- application of a rejuvenating nourishing gel,
- after 15 minutes, cleanse your face of any remaining gel,
- treatment of different areas of the face with an ultrasonic scrubber or a device for vacuum skin cleaning for 15-20 minutes (during the procedure, you can use moisturizing gels, medications, and desincrustation lotion),
- removal of residues of medicinal or cosmetic products using water,
- application of lotion with collagen and anti-inflammatory, soothing components,
- applying a moisturizing mask or toning gel,
- after 15 minutes the mask or gel is removed,
- applying moisturizer.
Mechanical facial cleansing is carried out according to the following scheme:
- cleansing the skin of makeup and surface impurities using cleansing agents,
- skin treatment with toner,
- using a peeling mask for deeper cleansing of the skin and preparation for the removal of acne and comedones,
- steaming the skin using a special device or warming gels, which helps open the pores for easier removal of their contents (as an option, a cold hydrogenation procedure is performed),
- mechanical facial cleansing (removal of acne and blackheads using hands and a special spatula),
- using a mask to tighten pores on the skin,
- darsonvalization for skin disinfection, as well as for improving blood supply and nutrition of facial tissues (a special device is used that affects the skin with a weak current),
- use of a preventative anti-acne mask,
- application of a nourishing and moisturizing eye mask,
- application of cosmetic cream appropriate to the client's skin type.
The protocol for chemical facial peeling may vary slightly depending on the cosmetics used. Here is one option for the procedure:
- removing makeup and dirt from the face with cleansers other than soap,
- application of special masks that provide the skin with sufficient hydration,
- after removing the remains of the mask, the skin is treated with a cosmetic lotion for oily and problematic skin,
- chemical peeling using acid masks that are kept on the skin for 10-15 minutes.
- application of a softening solution, on top of which wet wipes are placed,
- treatment of the skin with a disinfectant,
- applying a peeling cream with a soft, gentle effect to the skin (a warm compress is applied on top),
- applying a mask that helps to narrow the pores, washing it off after 15-20 minutes),
- reuse of softening solution,
- application of a moisturizing emulsion over the solution.
Popular types of deep facial cleansing
Deep facial cleansing is often called peeling, and this is not surprising, because its result is skin cleansed of dead cells and deep, hard-to-reach impurities, which acquires a fresh, healthy color and extraordinary smoothness. And since such cleansing facilitates access to the epidermal and dermal layers of oxygen and nutrients, an improvement in metabolic processes in the skin is noted, the production of collagen and elastin increases, which means the face looks more toned and younger even without the use of cosmetics.
There are several popular methods of deep facial cleansing, the choice of which is made depending on the existing problem. For example, mechanical peeling (removal of acne by hand or with a special spoon, carried out in cosmetology rooms) is suitable for fairly young women who have blackheads, acne, comedones on their face.
A type of mechanical facial cleansing is considered to be the vacuum method (suction of dirt from the pores of the skin by creating a vacuum), which is carried out using a special device.
For women with increased oiliness of the skin and enlarged pores, such a method of deep facial cleansing as desincrustation will be useful. This is a complex method that includes a double effect. A low-power galvanic current promotes the release of sebaceous gland secretion to the surface of the skin, and the alkaline solution applied to it promotes the fact that fat effectively melts and is easier to remove from the surface of the body.
Under the influence of the current, an increase in skin tone, the so-called lifting effect, and a decrease in the rate of keratinization of the superficial layers of the epidermis are also observed.
Chemical peeling is a facial cleansing with aggressive agents, most often acids, capable of smoothing the surface of the epidermis, removing the stratum corneum on the skin, softening comedones and impurities in the deep pores of the skin. This is a universal procedure, but its use on aging skin can have the opposite effect if scrubs are used as active agents instead of peels.
Ultrasonic deep facial cleansing (ultrasonic peeling) is a hardware cosmetology procedure that is considered more gentle than chemical peeling. With the help of ultrasound, you can effectively combat comedones and acne, seborrhea, increased skin oiliness or excessive keratinization, narrow enlarged pores of the face, and also significantly reduce the unattractive manifestations of physiological aging of the skin (decreased turgor, the appearance of deep and fine wrinkles, age pigmentation). Ultrasonic peeling is preferred by women with aging skin due to the noticeable lifting effect, as well as those whose skin can only be called problematic with a stretch.
Vacuum and ultrasonic facial cleansing are procedures performed using special devices that beauty salons are equipped with. However, a portable device for deep facial cleansing can also be purchased for personal use to perform the procedure at home.
On sale you can find devices for ultrasonic peeling (Gezatone BioSonic 2000 KUS-2K, Gezatone HS2307I, etc.), vacuum skin cleaning (Panasonic EH2513, Gezatone Super Wet Cleaner, etc.) and even electric brushes for mechanical facial cleansing (Philips VisaPure, Clarisonic Mia 2, etc.). With the help of these preparations you can cleanse and massage your face, and Gezatone BioSonic 2000 KUS-2K makes it possible to additionally perform phonophoresis using medicinal products.
Deep facial cleansing at home
Many readers are interested in the question of whether it is possible to cleanse the skin well at home or whether it is necessary to save money for monthly visits to a beauty salon, because peeling in most cases is recommended to be done once every 3-4 weeks or even every week? There is no doubt that salon cleaning is the most preferable option, of course, if it is performed by a professional. The difference is especially noticeable when it comes to mechanical skin cleansing, because not everyone knows how to properly remove acne, comedones, blackheads, so that the procedure does not end with inflammatory reactions on the face.
With hardware methods it is a little easier. Here it is important to thoroughly cleanse and prepare the skin for the procedure, the rest will be done by the device itself, no matter whether it is purchased for home use or used in a salon.
Unfortunately, not everyone can afford to buy an expensive device, and a cheaper one in many cases does not justify itself. So women turn to old proven methods that combine elements of mechanical and chemical deep facial cleansing. But for such a cleansing procedure to be successful, it must be carried out correctly.
Let's take a closer look at all the stages of facial skin cleansing at home:
- Preparation of the skin for the cleansing procedure, including:
- Surface cleansing of the skin from various contaminants, dust particles, sebum, and remnants of previously used cosmetics. For these purposes, cotton pads and any available home cleansers are most often used, which should be selected taking into account the skin type. In the case of oily skin, it is better to use a washing gel, and for dry skin, milk is more suitable. Ideally, you can use special makeup removers.
- Skin toning, i.e. treating it with a toner, which softens the effects of cleansing procedures and improves tissue nutrition.
- Warming up the skin of the face. This stage is necessary in order to effectively expand the pores, which will then easily give up all the unnecessary things that have accumulated in them, having come from the air or formed as a result of physiological processes. To facilitate the discharge of the contents of the skin pores, you can use warming thermogels or, if there are contraindications, special softening agents.
But the easiest way to widen your pores is to steam your face over a pot of hot water. However, you need to be careful here, as you can easily burn your skin or eyes (if you keep them open).
You will have to sit over the steaming water for about 10-15 minutes. To do this with even greater benefit, instead of water you can use a herbal decoction, adding calendula, chamomile, mint to it. Being antiseptics, these herbs will have a calming and anti-inflammatory effect.
To make the steaming process more active and to ensure that the steam hits your face directly instead of dispersing into the air, it is recommended to cover your head with a towel, but in such a way that the hot, moist air can easily escape from under it.
- Directly deep skin cleansing, which can be done mechanically (using scrubs) or chemically (using peels). It is important to understand that a scrub and a peel are not the same thing. The former have a higher abrasiveness, but by themselves are not capable of having a strong effect on the skin, so they should not only be applied to the face, but also rubbed in with massaging movements. Peels are simply applied to the skin and left to act for 15-20 minutes. The end result of both products will be smooth, clean skin, free of dead cells and deep impurities.
- Removal of skin defects such as comedones and acne. In fact, this is manual squeezing of purulent contents of unattractive "decorations" on the face. This is the most delicate part of the procedure, because if it is performed carelessly, skin inflammation cannot be avoided.
When performing this procedure, special attention should be paid to hand and face hygiene. Hands should not only be washed with soap, but also additionally treated with alcohol or another disinfectant solution to kill the microbes that cause inflammation.
It is necessary to remove the contents of whiteheads and blackheads carefully, trying to ensure that nothing remains in the cavity, otherwise the wound may not heal for a long time.
Only ripe elements can be squeezed out. Inflamed unripe acne and pimples cannot be touched by yourself. It is better to contact specialists (dermatologist or cosmetologist) with this problem.
- Skin disinfection. After removing closed and open comedones, small but deep wounds remain in their place, which can easily become infected with bacteria, which will lead to the development of an inflammatory process. To avoid this, the skin after removing acne should be treated with an antiseptic. Alcohol or alcohol tinctures with antibacterial action can be used as an antimicrobial solution (calendula tincture has proven itself well). If you have sensitive skin, it is better not to risk aggressive alcohol solutions, but to use three percent hydrogen peroxide.
- Activities to close pores. For this purpose, special masks are usually used. Very often, such masks are made on the basis of white clay. You can buy such a mask at a pharmacy or in the cosmetics department of a department store. But it is better to make the product yourself, using green tea (a tonic) and a suitable type of clay. For aging mature skin, the best option would be a mask made of green clay, and for oily skin with acne - from blue clay.
Making a mask to tighten pores is easy, you just need to add enough tea to the clay so that the consistency of the mixture resembles sour cream. Keep the mask on your face until it dries completely (this is about 15 minutes). Instead of tea, you can use boiled water or cosmetic lotion.
You can remove the mask from your face using cool water. Do this with light massage movements for several minutes, trying to ensure that no traces of clay remain on the skin.
- The final stage of deep facial cleansing is considered to be the application of skin soothing products. After all, the aggressive actions of mechanical and chemical peeling cannot but affect the appearance of the skin after the procedure. It becomes red, and burning and pain may be felt. Soothing anti-inflammatory or moisturizing creams and masks that match your skin type will help cope with these symptoms.
You can give as many recommendations as you like on the topic of the correct skin cleansing procedure, but only a specialist can say which cosmetics can be used in a particular case. Of course, you can practice the trial and error method until you select the ideal list of cleansing and soothing cosmetics, but it will be much more effective to visit a cosmetologist at least once, who will give practical recommendations on the selection of medical and cosmetic products according to the skin type and its condition.
Deep facial cleansing in 1 procedure
As we have already understood, deep facial cleansing can be successfully performed regularly not only in a beauty salon, but also at home. It is only important to follow the rules of hygiene and choose the right cosmetics. At the same time, it is fundamentally wrong to think that expensive cosmetics will give the best result. Firstly, expensive is not always good, and secondly, the success of the procedure is determined not by its cost, but by the correct selection of products and materials in accordance with their purpose and skin type.
Effective and inexpensive medical and cosmetic products can be purchased both at the pharmacy and in the specialized department of the store. But many women prefer homemade scrubs and peels, which are distinguished by their natural composition and the absence of harmful additives.
Below are some recipes for masks and scrubs that will help you effectively cleanse your face at home.
Hercules mask. We are not talking about the hero of ancient Greek myths, but about a completely modern product - oat flakes, among the useful properties of which there is a cleansing effect, revealed when used as a cosmetic product.
It is easy to prepare the mask from improvised means: grind 2 tablespoons of oatmeal into flour using a coffee grinder and mix with fresh protein of 1 egg. Add 1 tablespoon of slightly warmed milk and grape seed oil (other oils available at home will also do: olive, coconut, apricot, etc.) to the mixture and mix everything thoroughly.
Keep the mask on your face for 20 minutes. During this time, it will turn into a kind of film. You will have to suffer to wash the mask off your face with water (without soap or other cleansers), but the result of such a procedure will be more than worthy: soft skin, no oily shine or any dirt.
Clay mask. We have already written about such a product, so we will not repeat ourselves, but will only mention that adding essential oils to the mask will make the facial cleansing procedure not only pleasant, but also very effective.
Homemade scrubs. It is no secret that homemade scrubs made from natural products are no less effective than professional ones, the main thing is to choose a recipe that is suitable for your skin with all its features. What products do women not use as an abrasive when preparing homemade scrubs. This includes ground coffee grounds, pea grits ground in a coffee grinder, bran, and even salt. But most often they resort to the help of ready-made ground coffee powder.
To prepare a very effective and useful scrub, take 2 teaspoons of natural coffee powder (you can grind the beans yourself in a coffee grinder) and add 1 teaspoon of homemade sour cream (if the skin is dry and normal) or kefir (for oily skin). Apply the scrub to the skin and begin to gently massage it for 5-10 minutes.
The product is washed off quite easily with plain water. If the skin seems a little greasy, you can blot it with a napkin, but it is strictly not recommended to use soap after scrubbing.
Salt and soda scrub mask. Another useful, although less popular, recipe for cleaning clogged pores or so-called blackheads. Turn cleansing milk or soap into foam with your hands, then spread it over your face. Pre-mix fine salt and soda in equal proportions, lightly moisten with water, and apply the resulting gruel to your face covered in soap foam. Massage the scrub mask over your face for 2 minutes, then leave it alone for 10 minutes, despite a slight tingling sensation, which is considered a normal reaction. After 10 minutes, wash off the mask with slightly warmed water.
You can also make very good masks and scrubs from popular pharmacy products.
Badiaga mask. This is a fairly strong product with a noticeable exfoliating effect, which also improves blood circulation in the tissues. Unfortunately, it is not suitable for those with sensitive, delicate skin or inflamed elements on it.
Prepare a mask from bodyagi powder and a three percent solution of hydrogen peroxide, mixing the ingredients until they become a paste. Keep the mask on your face for only 15 minutes, then wash it off with warm water and apply a moisturizer to your face.
Activated Charcoal and Gelatin Peel-Off Mask. This is an improved recipe for a gelatin and water mask, to which another important component has been added, which acts as an absorbent, removing not only dirt but also toxic substances. This mask is considered a very effective remedy against blackheads.
Take 1 black tablet of activated carbon, grind it to a fine powder, add 1 teaspoon of gelatin and 2 teaspoons of boiled or purified water. Mix and whisk the mixture vigorously, then place it in a water bath to dissolve the gelatin. Use the mixture hot (but not too hot, so as not to burn your face), distributing it over the areas where blackheads accumulate with active patting movements. When the film dries, it needs to be removed. And it’s better to do it in one piece.
This mask not only thoroughly cleanses the pores, but also narrows them, facilitating the procedure of deep facial cleansing, because narrowing the pores is a separate item in the protocol of this procedure.
Acid peeling. The most amazing results, according to many women, are given by deep facial cleansing with acetylsalicylic acid (with aspririn). The peeling mask is prepared on the basis of tablets of the above-mentioned medicine with the addition of water and honey.
Aspirin tablets should be crushed into a fine powder and a little water should be added to them (literally a few drops). Without waiting for the medicine to completely dissolve, add natural honey to the mixture at a rate of 1/3-1/4 teaspoon per tablet. The amount of honey depends on its thickness, because the mask should not be liquid.
After thoroughly mixing the ingredients, apply the mixture to your face and leave it to act for 10 minutes, then massage your skin actively for 1-2 minutes and wash off the mask with water. After the procedure, blot your face with a napkin and apply a moisturizer or wipe your skin with a toner.
Deep facial cleansing at home with honey and aspirin is in no way inferior to salon procedures, but there is a small nuance that makes the procedure quite dangerous in some cases. The mask contains bee products and "Aspirin", which are known allergens, so before using this home cosmetic product, you need to conduct a test by covering a small area of the elbow with the composition for 20 minutes. This will help to avoid unpleasant consequences in the future associated with allergic reactions, which can be quite severe.
Peeling with calcium chloride. There are many opposing opinions about this recipe. Despite the fact that in some beauty salons this method of facial cleansing is used to this day (and it has been known since the Soviet Union), it is not recommended to do peeling with calcium chloride at home, especially for those who do not know their skin type. It is not suitable for dry and sensitive skin at all, and for combination skin, the product can only be applied to areas of increased oiliness. The area around the eyes is taboo for such treatment in any case. Before starting the procedure, it is highly recommended to undergo a sensitivity test to the peeling composition.
For the cleaning procedure, take baby soap without additives and an ampoule of calcium chloride. Apply the medicinal solution to the pre-cleaned face and leave until dry. Repeat this step until the solution from the ampoule is completely used up.
Next, you need to soap your hands and massage your face several times in a circular motion. During this process, white flakes will form on the skin, which are the result of the chemical interaction of the soap and the medicine. There is no need to be afraid of this. Continue the procedure until you feel that the skin is clean enough.
The composition should be washed off the skin with warm water for a long time. The alkali formed during the manipulation is not so easily washed off the surface of the face.
After a positive result has been achieved, it is essential to apply a moisturizing and soothing product (mask or cream) to the face.
It is recommended to carry out such peeling no more than 2 times a month, provided that there was no tingling or burning sensation on the skin during the procedure, and also in the absence of irritation, wounds and inflammatory elements on the face.
Contraindications to the procedure
Deep facial cleansing is an effective cleansing and rejuvenating cosmetic procedure that can be performed using different methods. It is clear that, despite the apparent safety, each method may have its own contraindications to the procedure, associated with the use of certain equipment or cosmetics.
Thus, ultrasonic facial cleansing is not performed in severe forms of heart and vascular diseases, for example, after a heart attack or stroke, with very high blood pressure, etc. Exposure to ultrasound can negatively affect the operation of implanted devices that have their own electric field, such as pacemakers.
It is not permitted to carry out ultrasound procedures during pregnancy and lactation, as well as in the presence of oncological pathologies at any stage of development.
Such procedures are not performed on mentally ill patients, so as not to worsen their condition. The ultrasound peeling procedure will have to be postponed in the presence of any diseases occurring in an acute form, or the presence of wounds and irritations on the skin.
General contraindications to chemical peeling include pregnancy and breastfeeding, herpes on the lips, acute colds or infectious pathologies, high temperature at the time of the procedure, inflammation and wounds on the skin of the face.
It is not recommended to perform chemical facial peeling for people with dark skin, heart and vascular pathologies, metabolic disorders (for example, diabetes), severe liver and kidney diseases with impaired functions. It is quite dangerous to use aggressive facial peeling methods if you are prone to scarring, have warts and moles on your face, or have dermatitis or allergies. The procedure is not performed for highly sensitive skin and oncological diseases.
Mechanical facial cleansing has no fewer contraindications. These are various skin infections (in particular, herpetic lesions), dermatitis, eczema, psoriatic rashes, rosacea, furunculosis. Such cleansing is not suitable for dry or very sensitive skin, if there is a tendency to form keloid scars, large moles. It is also undesirable to carry out the procedure during menstruation.
If the patient suffers from bronchial asthma, VSD, increased hair growth (hirsutism), if he has thin skin or dilated vessels, steaming, which is necessary to facilitate mechanical facial cleansing, is not carried out, it is replaced by cold hydrogenation. Self-administration of procedures at home without taking into account your condition can have unpleasant and even dangerous consequences.
Consequences after the procedure
Usually, if deep facial cleansing is performed correctly and taking into account the above contraindications, its result is clean, soft, glowing skin, free of the stratum corneum and "decorations" in the form of comedones and pimples. But if you violate the procedure protocol or do not take care of its hygienic side, it becomes obvious that unpleasant consequences cannot be avoided.
It is probably not worth reminding once again that it is necessary to take into account the contraindications to the chosen type of peeling, because ignoring this requirement can provoke complications of diseases after a seemingly completely safe cosmetic procedure.
Temporary complications after deep facial cleansing can be considered redness and swelling of the skin of the face. After all, a large surface of the skin is exposed to aggressive influence, which is restored within 1-2 days. If these symptoms remain for a longer period, then your skin is considered sensitive or some mistakes were made during the procedure (for example, at the end they forgot to apply a soothing cream).
Peeling of the skin after the procedure is considered a normal reaction, to remove it it is enough to use moisturizing creams. If you try to remove the peeling skin with your hands, there is a high probability of introducing an infection. In addition, additional trauma to the skin can cause severe redness and irritation. Using scrubs in the first days of the procedure will also be traumatic.
There are many controversial points in the skin steaming procedure. On the one hand, it facilitates the removal of dirt from pores and comedones, but on the other hand, it leads to skin dehydration. If the skin is already dry, such a procedure can provoke a deterioration in its condition, severe peeling, itching and inflammation.
Unskilled performance of the procedure is also quite dangerous, especially during mechanical facial cleansing. Unprofessional work of the master can result in the wounds in the place of comedones taking a long time to heal, and unattractive scars and cicatrices will form in their place.
As a result of careless work, the cosmetologist may injure the skin in the area of the sebaceous glands, which will lead to increased activity and increased oiliness of the face. A similar outcome cannot be ruled out when performing the procedure at home.
If you do not maintain hand and face hygiene, this is fraught with the fact that after the cleaning procedure the skin condition will not improve, but on the contrary, new inflammatory elements will appear on it in place of dried acne. By the way, each of us has heard many times that you cannot touch acne and your face in general with unwashed hands. It is a pity that we do not always listen to practical advice.

Care after the procedure
Any facial cleansing, especially deep, depending on the type of procedure, traumatizes the skin to a greater or lesser extent. Ultrasonic peeling is considered the most delicate, while mechanical and chemical facial cleansing are the most traumatic. However, no matter what procedure a woman resorts to in search of beauty and youth, it is necessary to understand that special skin care is needed not only before and during the manipulations, but also after them.
You need to be especially careful with your skin in the first hours after the procedure. Since the skin loses some moisture during the manipulation and becomes more sensitive to all kinds of influences, it is necessary to moisturize and soothe it. This should be done with the help of special gels and foams. And later you can resort to the help of moisturizing creams.
Let us remind you once again that it is unacceptable to remove exfoliated skin flakes with your hands or a scrub in the first days, as this will lead to irritation of the skin, the formation of scars and depressions on it.
It is not recommended to use various compresses and masks on inflamed and irritated skin. You need to wait 2-3 days until the skin recovers after the procedure, and only then begin to use various methods of facial care.
If peeling, itching and inflammation are noticeable on the skin after the procedure, their manifestation can be reduced by using cold compresses with anti-inflammatory herbal decoctions (or simply with clean water) or pharmacy antiseptics (for example, chlorhexidine), which effectively fight microbes on the skin and have a calming effect.
At the final stage of the procedure, it is necessary to use products that narrow the pores and prevent dirt and infection from penetrating them. If the pores are still open, you can use special tonics after the cleansing manipulations, the action of which is aimed at narrowing the pores. Alternatively, you can wipe the skin with a calendula-based lotion.
Various pore-tightening products can be prepared at home using lemon juice as a base. Citrus juice is mixed in equal quantities with mineral water or egg white. The result is a toner or mask that whitens the skin and helps tighten pores.
In the first period after deep facial cleansing, it is not recommended to use decorative cosmetics, especially foundation creams and powder. The skin after the procedure becomes very sensitive to ultraviolet radiation, so it is necessary to limit the possibility of direct sunlight. Particular attention will have to be paid to facial hygiene, but for washing use not running chlorinated tap water, but mineral or structured water.
Deep Facial Cleansing Reviews
Like any cosmetic procedure, deep facial cleansing cannot please absolutely everyone, because even during the procedure, women experience different sensations. For example, ultrasonic peeling does not cause discomfort for most people, except for a slight tingling or stinging, but some patients claim that they experienced a little pain.
But in general, reviews of ultrasonic facial peeling are very positive. Many women are delighted that in addition to cleansing the skin, ultrasound helps to lift it, as a result of which the face looks younger, and fine wrinkles practically disappear.
Reviews of the relatively new, but increasingly popular, galvanic facial cleansing procedure are also mostly positive. Women note that the skin becomes not only clean, but also more elastic. An important disadvantage of this procedure, as in the case of ultrasonic facial cleansing, is the impossibility of carrying it out during pregnancy, when hormonal changes in the body are especially clearly expressed on the face.
As for vacuum facial cleansing, opinions differ. Some like this procedure, others complain about the insufficient effect, but most clients of beauty salons and doctors agree that this procedure is effective if the facial skin is not neglected and has been thoroughly cleaned and pores opened beforehand.
Mechanical facial cleansing also causes a lot of controversy. Of course, the procedure is very effective against comedones and blackheads, but only if it is performed in compliance with all the requirements for it, otherwise there are complaints about increased oiliness of the skin, an increase in the number of acne, etc. Women also do not like the appearance of the skin for 2-4 days after the procedure, because there is nothing attractive in a reddened swollen face. If you cleanse once every 2 weeks, it turns out that a fifth of the time between procedures, when you should be enjoying clean, glowing skin, a woman is forced to hide her face, sit at home, so as not to shock others and not expose sensitive skin to additional irritation.
However, in the fight against acne, the method of mechanical facial cleansing is considered the most effective.
As for chemical peeling, many women note the amazing effect of this procedure in combating increased oiliness of the facial skin. It is clear that the impact of aggressive chemicals (and acids in particular) cannot pass without a trace, and after the procedure, redness and swelling of the tissues are again observed, but subsequently the skin becomes clean and soft, without oily shine and inflammatory elements.
Many women are especially pleased that the chemical peeling compounds can be easily prepared and used at home, and the components for homemade cosmetics are quite inexpensive, which is also important, because facial cleansing procedures must be repeated periodically. For oily skin, they sometimes have to be done even 2-3 times a month, which is quite expensive if you resort to salon procedures.
Deep facial cleansing is a procedure that in many cases is not only recommended, but also necessary, because it stimulates regenerative processes in the skin, improves its breathing and nutrition, and preserves its health and youth for many years. And the response to your efforts and patience will certainly be the admiring glances of those around you, as well as enthusiastic reviews from friends and family.
