Fibroapilloma (fibroma) of the skin

Fibroapilloma (syn: fibroma) - a benign tumor, is a different form and size of the nodular formations protruding above the surface of the skin, sometimes on a narrower base. They are usually dense-elastic consistency, pale pink or brownish in color. Localized in any area of the skin, but more often on the trunk and head. There are from birth, but can appear at any age.
[Pathogenesis
The basis of the neoplasm is fibrous connective tissue, in which it is often possible to see a significant number of vessels, focal edema, various intensity of inflammatory infiltrates, and sometimes hyalinosis. The tumor is covered with the epidermis of the usual structure with uneven papillary outgrowths, and sometimes with atrophy phenomena. There are variants with signs of hyper- and parakeratosis. As a result of secondary inflammatory changes in the tumor tissue, sometimes accompanied by ulceration, hemosiderin accumulations and proliferation of granulation tissue are found in the stroma.
The histogenesis of fibropapilloma and papilloma is not fundamentally different. Simply epithelial-stromal relationships in these processes (imputed to the side of epithelial (papilloma) or stromal (fibropapilloma) components.
