Nutritionists have published a list of the healthiest energy drinks. Many will be surprised by this list, because the first place in this rating is... ordinary drinking water.

Energy drinks are popular among many people today, especially teenagers and people aged 20 to 30. The current pace of life forces people to look for new ways to perk up. Coffee does not help everyone, and you have to run to the pharmacy to get some lemongrass extract. But an energy drink is a different story: it increases your performance in a matter of minutes, and you are not ashamed to appear “in public” with it, since cans of fizzy energy drinks usually look stylish and modern.

Of course, advertising plays a significant role here: most teenagers are sure that drinking energy drinks is “cool” – both at work or school, and at a party or club. However, many know that such drinks do more harm than good.

The feeling of vivacity after consuming an energy drink is a temporary effect, which is then replaced by increased fatigue, irritability, sleep disturbances and cardiac activity. And – the more often a person drinks such drinks, the more harm he does to his body.

Meanwhile, scientists have analyzed all kinds of drinks and concluded that no other drink invigorates better than ordinary drinking water. And the benefits of water are undeniable. It is especially important to drink water for those who actively practice physical exercise and lead an active lifestyle.

In order to recover faster and increase the body's tone, it is recommended to add a little lemon juice and honey to clean water. If you have problems with the digestive tract, it will be enough to drink just water with honey.

Experts are sure that the energy drinks that are popular today do much more harm than good. Frequent consumption of energy drinks can cause problems with the nervous system, excess weight, decay of teeth, and damage to the digestive system and kidneys.

As for regular water, everyone can drink it without exception – both children and adults. Cool water, drunk on an empty stomach, speeds up metabolic processes, charges with energy and drives away sleep.

Water with added lemon juice is a great tonic, improves the liver and cardiovascular system. After all, ascorbic acid, which is contained in lemon juice, acts as an antioxidant and stimulant, increases immunity and normalizes metabolism.

Slightly salted water can also be used as an energy drink – especially if you need to normalize your blood glucose levels. But the main thing here is not to overdo it with adding salt – there really should be a little bit of it.

Of course, water will not act as quickly as a canned energy drink. However, its effect will be brighter, longer lasting and - what is important - much safer.
