Alzheimer's disease is an incurable disease that develops in old age, and specialists from different countries are trying to find a medicine that would help cope with the severe symptoms of the disease, but without success.

And recently, Israeli scientists announced that the drug they developed can eliminate the symptoms of Alzheimer's.

The drug is currently in the development stage and experiments with rodents have shown that the drug is quite effective - after treatment, the mice's cognitive abilities improved. Before conducting experiments with laboratory animals, scientists tested the drug on planted neuron cultures - during the experiments, even a small amount of the drug prevented the destruction of nerve cells that had already undergone destructive changes (oxidation, beta-amyloid plaques). During the work, the scientists covered neurons with different concentrations of the substance, and this always helped the cells survive.

The scientific group considers the obtained results to be quite impressive, and the developed remedy can become the basis for the development of a truly effective drug for this currently incurable disease, which affects hundreds of thousands of people around the world.

According to researchers, the Alzheimer's drug is a unique molecule that can perform many therapeutic tasks. According to scientists, in order to develop an effective Alzheimer's treatment, it is necessary to study the process of beta-amyloid plaque formation and understand how to counteract it. Today, various research groups are studying beta-amyloid plaques, but it seems that scientists from Bar-Ilan University (Israel) have achieved truly effective results. The molecule created by the researchers breaks the accumulation of beta-amyloid, which disrupts the transmission of nerve signals, while the molecule promotes the activation of specific proteins that protect cells from other negative effects associated with the development of Alzheimer's.

It is worth recalling that 99% of studies devoted to the development of a cure for Alzheimer's fail, clinical trials ultimately confirm the ineffectiveness of the drugs. Today, Alzheimer's disease is considered incurable, and its development is characterized by irreversible processes. The peculiarity of the disease is that the cells responsible for memories in the human brain gradually begin to die off, in addition, the functioning of the nervous system is disrupted.

The Israeli specialists' remedy is currently only in the development stage; scientists still have a lot of work to do to confirm the drug's effectiveness and safety for humans. At this stage, it is impossible to say with certainty whether the new remedy will be 100% effective, but the research results are very encouraging and there is every chance that Alzheimer's disease will soon no longer sound like a death sentence for a person and his loved ones, and a drug will appear that, if not completely cures the disease, will at least help block severe symptoms and return a person to a full life.
