A common skin infection with various types of human papillomavirus (HPV) leads to the appearance of dermatological defects, which are commonly called warts. In solving this problem, a tool such as the Wartner wart removal pen can help.

Indications Wartner pens

The purpose of the Wartner Wart Pen applicator (manufactured by Pharmaspray BV, the Netherlands) is to independently (at home) remove common warts (verruca vulgaris) on the skin of the extremities, including plantar warts (verruca plantaris).

Similarly, the indication for the use of Wartner Cryotherapy Wart Remover (manufacturer - Omega Teknika, Ireland) or Wartner cryo for warts.

Release form

The Wartner Verruca & Wart Removal Pen device is released - a pencil or Wartner wart applicator pen using the acid-liquid method. The gel contained in the Wartner device is a composition with TCA - concentrated trichloroacetic (trichloroethanoic) acid, which cauterizes the wart tissue and causes prolonged desquamation (peeling).

Another form of anti-verrucous agent of this brand is Wartner Cryotherapy (Wartner cryo) - aerosol (cylinder with applicator); it freezes these formations on the skin (by freezing to -50°C). This temperature is reached by evaporation of the DMEP (dimethyl ether + propane) gas mixture contained in the balloon, which is applied in the form of foam with an applicator to the surface of the wart, which leads to direct damage to keratinocyte cells and their necrosis.

Dosing and administration

These funds are used externally. The Wartner and Wartner Cryo pen instructions detail how to use them, and manufacturers repeatedly emphasize the importance of following these rules.

To determine the correct amount of gel to apply to the wart, the applicator pen has a twist-and-turn mechanism. When using the Wartner pen for the first time - to completely fill it with gel - you need to turn the knob on the top of the device fully clockwise (until a drop appears). One drop is enough to treat one medium-sized wart. The gel is applied twice a day for four days in a row (if the wart is small, once is enough); the gel is absorbed into the wart tissue within a quarter of an hour (that is, this time is necessary for drying).

Peeling skin (which usually peels off for about a week) can be washed off with warm running water. After the disappearance of the wart, a pink patch of regenerated skin remains, which will eventually return to its normal color.

After pressing the valve of the Wartner cryo applicator (which should not exceed 3 seconds), a pause of 20 seconds should be maintained, after which cold foam is applied to the surface of the wart (for 20-40 seconds). At the same time, the wart turns white, and a slight tingling occurs, and a pustule (blister) appears under the wart. One wart using Wartner Cryo can be frozen no more than three times - with an interval of 14 days after each procedure.

  • Application for children

The use of these funds for children is possible only after they reach the age of four.

Use Wartner pens during pregnancy

These remedies for removing warts are not used during pregnancy and lactation.

Contraindications

According to the official instructions, the Wartner pen and Wartner cryo are contraindicated to use:

  • to remove warts localized on the face, in the armpits and inguinal region; papillomas on mucous membranes; wart-like dark nevi, as well as verrucous formations on the skin of other parts of the body;
  • to get rid of warts with hairs growing on them;
  • in the presence of irritation, itching and / or hyperemia of the skin at the site of intended use;
  • in cases of a history of diabetes mellitus or peripheral venous congestion.

Side effects Wartner pens

As noted in the accompanying instructions, the Wartner Wart Pen should be applied very carefully, without touching the skin around the wart, otherwise it may be damaged, after healing which may leave a scar.

Wartner Cryo should also be used to avoid scarring and nerve damage (which causes loss of skin sensation in the area of skin that has been frozen).

Overdose

An excess amount of gel when using the Wartner pen can cause a very painful chemical burn with redness and ulceration of the skin adjacent to the wart. If intense pain occurs, the gel should be washed off quickly with cool water.

Freezing a Wartner Cryo wart in violation of the instructions (too long) is fraught with local tissue necrosis.

Storage conditions

Store these funds in a dry place out of the reach of children; optimum temperature + 18-25 ° С.

Shelf life

Shelf life - two years.
