It happens that after a long stay in an uncomfortable position with bent legs, a person begins to feel discomfort in the limb and numbness of the toes occurs, and sometimes the leg as a whole. This occurs due to compression of the leg vessels. This situation is easy to fix. Active movements and light massage quickly eliminate the symptoms of numbness, which manifest themselves in the form of an unpleasant tingling or burning sensation, a feeling that goosebumps are running along the leg, a little painful tightening and causeless chilliness. But such measures do not always help, because the cause of numbness of the limbs can also be various pathologies.

Epidemiology

Research shows that 90% of all complaints about frequent or prolonged "causeless" numbness of the toes are associated with one diagnosis - osteochondrosis of the lumbar spine. Moreover, this symptom is most often observed in those who are diagnosed with the stage of formation of a herniated disc.

According to other studies, 40% of cases of chronic innervation disorders of the fingers and feet are due to chronic diseases such as diabetes, oncological diseases of the spine, HIV infection, vitamin deficiency, chronic alcoholism and even severe liver and kidney damage. Almost a third of all cases of numbness of the legs have a hereditary factor, and a fifth are caused by inflammatory diseases. In addition, it is not always possible to accurately determine the cause of the pathology, which, however, significantly complicates further therapy.

Causes toe numbness

In any case, patients notice the first signs of numbness, such as tingling and burning in the fingers, loss of skin sensitivity, the appearance of “goosebumps”, decreased mobility of the fingers, feet or limbs as a whole.

Numbness of the toes in itself is not dangerous, as it only serves as a signal for the development of other pathologies. But these very pathologies in their development can sometimes lead to disastrous consequences. The consequences and complications, in turn, depend on the disease, one of the symptoms of which is numbness of the legs. For example, ordinary hypothermia of the toes can cause severe pneumonia, and frostbite threatens tissue necrosis and gangrene, to prevent which amputation of the toe or part of the leg is practiced.

The same dangerous complications can be observed with endarteritis, in which the arteries become blocked, which can also result in gangrene.

It is probably not worth reminding that the currently “popular” osteochondrosis of the spine is one of the most common causes of loss of working capacity and disability if the process of deformation of the intervertebral discs is not stopped in time.

Oncological problems with the spine are no less dangerous. Numbness of the toes is the most harmless circumstance in this situation. If you pay attention to the symptoms that appear in time and detect the tumor at an early stage, there is every chance to remove it with the least risk to health and life. If you allow the growth of malignant cells, the consequences can be most tragic.

If after sitting for a long time with your leg tucked under you or in a "leg over leg" position, numbness of the limb occurs, lasting up to 1-2 minutes, there is no particular reason to sound the alarm. It is enough to lightly massage or vigorously rub the numb area of the leg.

But if the loss of sensitivity, accompanied by unpleasant sensations, does not go away for a long time, this is already a signal to include a visit to the doctor in the list of things to do in the coming days to identify the causes of the pathological condition.

Numbness of the fingers and toes is nothing more than a loss of sensitivity caused by problems in the vascular or nervous system. These include pinching or damage to peripheral nerves, compression or decreased vascular patency, resulting in circulatory problems and a lack of essential vitamins and microelements.

Well, who would doubt that the most common cause of numbness in the toes is the ubiquitous osteochondrosis, which has recently become more and more widespread. The lion's share of cases of numbness in the limbs is due to osteochondrosis of the lumbar spine, especially if a hernia or a preceding protrusion of the contents of the intervertebral discs is diagnosed.

Often, loss of sensitivity in the legs is observed against the background of other diseases affecting the spine. This is lumbar radiculitis, scoliosis and various conditions associated with pinched nerves in the area of the intervertebral discs. Numbness of the middle toe is associated with diseases of the spine, including oncological pathologies of the spine, as well as peripheral nerves.

Not only oncological diseases themselves, but also some methods of their treatment can cause loss of paresthesia (numbness) of the limbs. Numbness of the toes during chemotherapy occurs due to the disruption of the conductivity of nerve impulses from receptors caused by damage to the nerve fibers of the peripheral nervous system. At first, numbness of the tips of the toes is observed, and then the process affects the entire limb.

Osteochondrosis is characterized by numbness of the toes of the right foot. The same symptom may be associated with endocrine (thyroid disease, diabetes, etc.) or infectious (HIV, herpes, etc.) diseases. In particular, some viruses create favorable conditions in the human body for the development of such an autoimmune disease as rheumatoid arthritis, which affects various joints, organs and systems of the body and is accompanied by impaired sensitivity.

Loss of sensitivity can be a symptom of severe intoxication of the body due to taking large doses of drugs or alcohol abuse. Sometimes numbness of the fingers is caused by injury to the limb and the consequences associated with the injury, lack of vitamins or vascular diseases.

Numbness of the toes in diabetes can be caused by angiopathy (destruction of the vascular walls of capillaries, arteries and veins) or peripheral neuropathy (nerve disease). In this case, loss of sensitivity can be observed on one or both feet. The so-called diabetic foot syndrome with complete loss of sensitivity is observed.

Chronic polyneuropathy with multiple lesions of the peripheral nervous system develops not only against the background of diabetes. The causes of its development can be poisoning with poisons and toxins, various infections and even allergic processes. The disease is characterized by the loss of all types of sensitivity, which can later lead to paralysis.

One type of neuropathy that is characterized by numbness in the shin and toes is tunnel syndrome. Tunnel neuropathy of the common peroneal nerve is caused by compression of the nerve between the fibula and the edge of the long muscle of the same name below the knee joint. This occurs when sitting for a long time with the leg bent and goes away as soon as the limb takes a relaxed position. But if the tunnel syndrome was preceded by an injury (for example, a fracture of the fibula) or knee surgery, serious treatment may be required before everything returns to normal.

Among the vascular diseases, one of the symptoms of which is constant numbness of the toes, we can distinguish obliterating endarteritis and Raynaud's disease. The first is an autoimmune disease with not fully understood causes and is manifested by narrowing of the arterial vessels of the lower extremities, as a result of which blood circulation is impaired. In Raynaud's disease, a decrease in blood flow through the vessels can be caused by stress and alcohol intoxication.

Circulatory problems can also be caused by thrombosis or blockage of blood vessels by cholesterol plaques in atherosclerosis. Numbness of the toes can accompany ischemic stroke affecting the inferior cerebellar and vertebral arteries.

If numbness (paresthesia) is observed in the area of the big toe, we can talk about a possible metabolic disorder. A striking example of a disease of this group, causing numbness of the extremities is gout (salt deposits in the joints). With this pathology, numbness of the fingers can be observed both on the right leg and in the area of the left leg.

Pain and numbness of the toes are observed in various neurological pathologies and vascular spasms. Thus, compression of the nerve trunk in the lower extremities causes the so-called tunnel syndrome, and pathological swelling of the peripheral nerve causes neuroma, which is characterized by numbness of the feet and toes.

Painful sensations against the background of loss of sensitivity of the toes can be caused by a banal lack of vitamins necessary for the body. We are talking about vitamins A, B3 and B12.

There have been cases of numbness in the toes associated with hyperventilation of the lungs, which occurs as a result of changes in the frequency and force of inhalation and exhalation due to strong excitement.

Uneven compression of different parts of the foot, typical of flat feet, can also negatively affect the sensitivity of the limbs.

Numbness of the toes does not necessarily indicate a disease. For example, numbness of the little toe most often does not cause any particular concern and is associated with wearing tight shoes. If the shoe is small and one of the toes rests against the toe of the shoe, it is possible that this toe may be affected by sensitivity problems.

Pathogenesis

Numbness of the extremities is most often observed if blood vessels or nerve fibers are exposed to external influences. This can be compression or bending of veins, arteries, capillaries and nerve endings. What happens when nerves and vessels are compressed, why do we feel numbness, and then pain and tingling? Let's consider the pathogenesis of this process.

If, due to illness or other reasons, blood vessels become bent or compressed, it is logical to assume that this will result in impaired blood circulation. If it concerns peripheral vessels, the lower or upper limbs suffer. The weakening of blood flow causes the arms and legs to become cold and lose sensitivity, i.e., go numb.

Impaired blood circulation due to damage or reduction in the diameter of blood vessels often leads to disruption of the nerve supply, which can also cause numbness in the fingers or toes, as well as atrophy or pinching of nerve endings.

Negative impact on blood vessels or nerve fibers leads to disruption of the conductivity of nerve impulses from sensitive receptors and the brain does not receive signals from them, which means we cannot adequately respond to the sensations that occur.

By the way, a simple hypothermia can cause circulatory problems. Under the influence of low temperatures, blood flow slows down, which is accompanied by pale skin of the fingers and their numbness. In case of severe frostbite, the usual numbness can be replaced by pain, prolonged loss of sensitivity and tissue death.

Sometimes, certain production conditions contribute to the occurrence of numbness in the legs. We are talking about vibration, which can cause persistent spasm of peripheral vessels, which will subsequently affect the sensitivity of the limbs.

Diagnostics toe numbness

Diagnosis of numbness of the limbs itself is not difficult, because the feeling of "cotton wool" in the leg with an unpleasant tingling and "goosebumps" is difficult to confuse with anything else. It is much more difficult to determine the cause that caused this condition, except for cases when an uncomfortable position is to blame for the numbness of the leg, and we anticipate such an outcome in advance.

In principle, numbness of the toes associated with wearing shoes that are the wrong size or too tight can also be easily predicted. But in other cases, when there seems to be no reason for numbness of the feet, additional tests and serious instrumental examinations may be required to accurately determine the pathology, the symptom of which is the numbness of the toes that has caused concern.

Since the most common cause of numbness in the fingers of the lower extremities is osteochondrosis, the main method of instrumental diagnostics for this pathology is X-ray of various parts of the spine. MRI, CT and ultrasound of the vessels help to determine the state of the nervous and vascular systems and identify pathological changes in them.

Since numbness of the legs is typical for many pathologies, then to identify the cause of numbness of the toes, you may need to consult more than one specialist. This includes a therapist, a neurologist, an endocrinologist, an angiologist, a traumatologist, a rheumatologist, and an occupational pathologist. These specialists can prescribe their own tests.

For example, if diabetes mellitus or vascular atherosclerosis is suspected, not only a general blood test, but also a biochemical blood test and a general urine test are mandatory, helping to identify the presence of inflammation, increased glucose and cholesterol levels in the blood. In case of suppuration, typical for diabetes mellitus, a bacterial culture from wounds is additionally performed to identify the type of bacteria.

Sometimes an X-ray of the feet is also required if there is a suspicion of damage to the joints and bones in them.

Ultrasound duplex scanning, arterial oscillography and capillaroscopy provide complete information about the condition of the internal walls of blood vessels in vascular diseases and diabetes mellitus.

If Raynaud's disease is suspected, specific studies are required to identify autoantibodies that are fighting the body's own cells. Such studies are called immunological.

In case of vibration disease, in addition to capillaroscopy, which allows determining the condition of the vascular network, special studies are carried out, such as a walking test and foot thermometry.

The results of all the above studies, as well as information from the anamnesis in combination with information obtained from the patient and during the external examination, will help to establish the diagnosis as accurately as possible during differential diagnosis, in order to then begin effective targeted treatment of the condition accompanied by numbness of the toes.

Treatment toe numbness

When it comes to treating numbness in the extremities, it is important to understand that various treatment methods will be aimed not so much at relieving unpleasant symptoms, but at eradicating the cause that caused the loss of sensitivity in the toes. This is why it is so important that the diagnosis is not only timely, but also corresponds to the true state of affairs.

In terms of drug therapy for numbness of the toes, painkillers, muscle relaxants, and vitamin and mineral complexes are used. If the loss of sensitivity in the limb is associated with circulatory problems in the vessels, in addition to the above-mentioned drugs, angioprotectors are prescribed to relieve inflammation and improve blood microcirculation, as well as drugs that reduce blood clotting to prevent the formation of blood clots, which is typical for varicose veins and thrombosis.

If the cause of numbness in the toes is somehow related to the work of the joints, then chondroprotective drugs can be added to the general list of medications, which can restore cartilage tissue and optimize the condition and work of the joints, thus preventing their negative impact on the nerves and blood vessels.

To improve nerve conductivity, vitamins and mineral complexes are most often used, less often – medications. In this case, the decisive role is played by preparations of group B vitamins, especially those containing vitamins B1 and B12, which are responsible for the transmission of nerve impulses. Of the minerals, it is worth paying attention to zinc, potassium, calcium and magnesium. These substances, along with vitamins and amino acids, are responsible for the health of the central and peripheral nervous system.

In cases of frostbite, diabetic foot and other conditions with the formation of purulent wounds, the help of antibiotics is required to prevent blood poisoning due to gangrene.

Medicines for numbness of the limbs

Numbness of the toes is always accompanied by unpleasant sensations such as burning, tingling and pain. In order to relieve these symptoms, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are used in the form of patches, tablets, ointments or injections. Most often, Analgin, Paracetamol, Pentalgin, and salicylic acid derivatives are prescribed. In case of severe pain syndrome due to intervertebral hernia or rheumatoid arthritis, stronger drugs are prescribed, such as Diclofenac, Ibuprofen, Meloxicam, etc.

"Meloxicam" is an inexpensive non-steroidal drug with pronounced anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects. It does not have a negative effect on cartilage tissue. It is used both in tablet form and by injection.

The method of administration and dosage of the drug depend on the diagnosed disease. Tablets are taken once a day with food. Injections most often involve the administration of the drug once a day. The dosage of the drug can range from 7.5 mg to 15 mg per day.

Taking the drug may be accompanied by dyspepsia, anemia, skin rashes and itching, headaches and dizziness, kidney and liver problems. It is necessary to inform the doctor about any side effects of the drug.

Precautions. Taking large doses of the drug may cause an overdose, accompanied by clouding of consciousness, gastrointestinal disorders, abdominal pain, gastric bleeding, respiratory arrest, and the development of renal or hepatic failure. Treatment of this condition involves measures to accelerate the elimination of the drug from the body: gastric lavage, taking activated charcoal or colestyramine.

The drug is not prescribed to children under 15 years of age, patients with intolerance to acetylsalicylic acid, ulcerative and inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, bleeding, cardiac, renal or hepatic insufficiency, during pregnancy and lactation.

In case of peripheral circulation disorders, varicose veins, diabetes, atherosclerosis of the lower extremity vessels, as well as in case of spinal lesions, angioprotective drugs are prescribed to improve microcirculation. These include Pentoxifylline, Doxilek, Vazaprostan, Antistax, etc.

"Doksilek" is a drug most often used in the treatment of pathologies that cause numbness in the toes.

The dosage and method of administration of the drug depend on the disease. The usual recommended dose of the drug is 250-750 mg per day. The frequency of administration is from 1 to 4 times a day. The capsules are taken without chewing, during or after a meal.

Taking the drug may be accompanied by the following side effects: digestive disorders, changes in liver function tests, allergic reactions.

"Doksilek" can enhance the effect of blood thinning drugs, in particular "Heparin".

The drug is contraindicated in ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, gastric bleeding, liver and kidney diseases, blood clotting disorders, in the first trimester of pregnancy. It is intended for the treatment of patients over 13 years of age.

"Heparin" is a drug that reduces blood viscosity and prevents thrombus formation, which, in case of numbness of the toes associated with circulatory disorders, is prescribed in the form of an ointment, subcutaneous or intravenous injections and droppers.

The method of administration and dosage of the drug is determined by the doctor individually in each specific case.

Side effects of the drug include skin and general allergic reactions, bleeding and hemorrhage, pain in the head, joints and injection site, redness of the skin, digestive disorders, increased blood pressure, and changes in laboratory parameters.

In case of drug overdose, bleeding of varying intensity is observed.

Contraindications for use:

  • hypersensitivity to the drug,
  • history of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia,
  • various types of bleeding,
  • periods of pregnancy and breastfeeding.

The drug should be taken with caution in case of ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, heart disease, diseases of the hematopoietic organs, pathologies of the central nervous system, and oncology.

If numbness of the toes is caused by degenerative processes in the joints, as a result of which nearby nerves and vessels are damaged, chondroprotector drugs are used to stop the pathological process, which have a positive effect on cartilage and bone tissue. A striking example of such a drug is "Chondroxide", which normalizes metabolism in cartilage and has a regenerating effect on bone and connective tissue of the joints.

The drug can be used both in the form of tablets and in the form of an ointment or gel, which are applied directly to the skin over the area affected by the main disease 2-3 times a day. Tablets are also taken 2 times a day, 2 pieces at a time with a small amount of liquid, regardless of food intake.

The course of treatment with the drug, depending on the patient's condition and the form of the drug used, ranges from 2-3 weeks to six months with the possibility of repeat courses after 3-5 months.

The drug has few side effects. Sometimes allergic reactions occur, nausea and diarrhea appear.

It also has few contraindications. These include pregnancy and breastfeeding, as well as hypersensitivity to the drug. Caution in taking the drug should be observed if there is a tendency to bleeding.

Treatment of numbness of the toes due to diabetes or frostbite may include taking antibacterial drugs (Gentamicin, Ampicillin, Ofloxacin, etc.) in order to avoid complete loss of sensitivity due to necrosis of the tissues of the extremities and to exclude a fatal outcome as a result of blood poisoning by their decay products.

Physiotherapy Treatment for Numbness in Toes

Physiotherapy is becoming widespread in the treatment of numbness in the toes, which is often more effective and safer than medication. The variety of physiotherapy methods allows you to choose the right treatment option for various pathologies that cause decreased sensitivity of the extremities, and find an individual approach to treating each patient.

Recently, temperature therapy, i.e. treatment with heat and cold, has become increasingly popular. When toes are numb, contrast foot baths and cold therapy give good results, which quickly and effectively remove inflammation, relieve swelling, and have a pronounced anticonvulsant and analgesic effect. Such procedures not only help to restore sensitivity of the hands and feet in a short time, but also have a positive effect on the functioning of all organs and systems of the body.

Electrophoresis is used in all cases where it is necessary to enhance the conductivity of nerve impulses or improve muscle and tissue activity. It helps to relieve all the unpleasant symptoms that accompany numbness of the limbs. Medicinal electrophoresis has found wide application in the complex therapy of any neurological diseases, since with its help the necessary drugs are introduced directly into the affected area, providing a strong therapeutic effect.

Pain and numbness in the toes can be relieved in a few sessions of laser therapy, which uses a stream of light particles to stimulate recovery and normalize the functions of various human tissues.

Magnetic therapy has a similar effect, which also stimulates the body to fight various diseases, improving brain and cardiac activity and relieving pain associated with numbness in some pathologies.

And, of course, it is simply impossible to overestimate the benefits of therapeutic massage for loss of sensitivity. If numbness is not associated with the development of some pathology in the human body, but is only the result of being in an uncomfortable position or wearing unsuitable shoes, massage is the only therapeutic method that allows you to remove the symptoms of numbness in a short time.

Relaxing and therapeutic massage is also useful for numbness of the toes due to certain pathologies, as it helps to safely and effectively relieve muscle and vascular spasms, improve blood circulation and tissue trophism, relieve pain, and restore sensitivity to the body.

Moderate physical activity is also helpful for numbness of the extremities. Daily jogging, swimming, and some exercises (squeezing and unclenching your toes, rolling a round object with your feet, walking on your toes and heels) will not only help relieve the symptoms of numbness, but also prevent this condition from occurring in the future.

Methods of manual and hirudotherapy (treatment with leeches), acupuncture and reflexology, balneological baths, mud massage, transcutaneous/transcutaneous electrical stimulation, stone massage help to improve the patient's condition and consolidate the results obtained from complex therapy for a long time.

Traditional medicine for numbness of the limbs

Folk treatment is measures and means that will help to relieve the symptoms of numbness of the toes on your own, without resorting to the help of doctors. But this does not mean that the use of folk experience should be uncontrolled and occur instead of drug treatment.

Let's look at folk recipes that can relieve symptoms of numbness in the toes and enhance the effect of pharmaceutical drugs that are designed to combat the underlying disease.

  • Recipe 1. Honey wraps. They are done for each numb finger separately. To do this, the finger is smeared with honey, which is thoroughly rubbed into the skin, and then wrapped with a piece of cloth or bandage. It is better to do this at night.
  • Recipe 2. Garlic-lemon infusion. Chop 1 lemon and a head of garlic, pour 2 glasses (500 ml) of water and leave for 4 days. Drink the infusion before meals in the amount of ¼ glass.
  • Recipe 3. Rubbing: pickled cucumbers and hot pepper. 2-3 cucumbers are cut into cubes and mixed with 3 pods of ground red pepper, 500 ml of vodka is added and infused in a dark place for 7 days.

A recipe from Tibetan medicine. Pour hot water into a large bowl at a temperature you can tolerate. Put your feet in it and press the bottom of the bowl with your fingers. After a few minutes, the sensitivity of your fingers is restored.

Herbal treatment should not be forgotten. When toes are numb, wormwood, motherwort, chicory, and marsh wild rosemary have a positive effect. Herbal infusions in vodka or apple cider vinegar are used for medicinal rubbing.

Homeopathy for numbness in toes

Treatment of the disease that causes numbness of the toes lasts more than one day, which means that you will have to saturate your body with chemical compounds that are part of the prescribed pharmacy drugs for a long period. You can resort to traditional medicine, but they alone will not bring the desired recovery. So, it makes sense to try the effective and safe remedies that homeopathy offers us.

As already mentioned, one of the minerals involved in the correction of nerve conduction is zinc. Zincum metallicum is a homeopathic preparation that replenishes the body's reserves of this microelement. The remedy is used in high dilutions, not less than 12th. A homeopathic doctor can give a more precise prescription.

The same applies to potassium and calcium preparations: Kali phosphoricum, which is used in 3 and 6 dilutions, Calcarea phosphorica (3, 6, 12 dilutions), Calcium carbonicum (as prescribed by a doctor). For pain and numbness of the toes, magnesium preparations can also be prescribed: Magnesium carbonicum or Magnesium phosphoricum.

In case of damage to the nervous and skeletal systems, preparations from the spider Tarentula hispanica or Teridion can be prescribed. The doses of these preparations depend on the pathology for which they are used. The first preparation is recommended to be used in the 3rd dilution and higher 2 times a week. The doses of the second can vary significantly.

Numbness of the extremities due to peripheral circulatory disorders is treated with the homeopathic medicine Aesculus compositum, which should be taken 3 times a day after meals. The medicine is available in the form of drops, its daily dose ranges from 3 to 10 drops depending on the patient's age. The drops are diluted in a small amount of water, before swallowing it is recommended to hold them in the mouth.

For any nervous diseases, including numbness of the toes due to nerve damage, the drug "Nervoheel" has a positive effect.

No matter how good and safe any homeopathic medicine is, it should be prescribed by a homeopathic doctor, not the patient. Despite the practical absence of side effects, when using homeopathic remedies, it would be a good idea to take some precautions, because any medicine may not be so safe if a hypersensitivity reaction develops. And some medicines are not recommended for use before a certain age or during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Is surgery necessary for numbness in toes?

Numbness of the toes is a pathology that requires mainly conservative treatment, which includes therapy with medications, homeopathic and folk remedies, physiotherapy, behavioral and lifestyle correction. Surgical treatment in this situation is rarely used and only in connection with the underlying disease that caused the numbness of the limbs. Such diseases include varicose veins, spinal hernia, and oncological diseases of the spine.

For example, in the case of varicose veins, the doctor may resort to phlebectomy, which involves surgically removing the damaged veins. In the case of venous thrombosis, it may be necessary to remove the blood clots that are causing the blockage.

Surgical treatment is used to combat intervertebral disc herniation and malignant tumors on the spine. Sometimes such an operation not only helps relieve the symptoms of leg numbness, but also saves the patient's life.

In severe cases of frostbite of the fingers or diabetes mellitus, when a purulent process progresses at the site of the wounds and tissue necrosis develops, sometimes they resort to amputation of a finger or part of the leg.

Prevention

Preventing numbness of the toes that is not associated with any pathology is not difficult. By avoiding uncomfortable positions, hypothermia of the extremities and wearing uncomfortable shoes, you may never experience this unpleasant condition. But that's not all. Some factors in our lives can provoke the development of acute and chronic diseases that will manifest themselves in the form of numbness of the extremities. To prevent this, you need to adhere to certain preventive measures.

A person's lifestyle and diet often play a decisive role in their health. If a person is active and mobile, prefers walking and sports to lying on the couch, has a negative attitude towards alcoholism, drug addiction, gluttony and smoking, adheres to a balanced diet, undergoes medical examinations and treatment of various infections in a timely and complete manner, then the risk of developing a dangerous chronic disease is very small.

However, one should not forget about caution. One should not put excessive loads on the spine, and one should also avoid injuries to this part of the body, and to the limbs too. It is important to understand that any injury to the body does not pass without a trace, affecting the condition of the tissues and systems of the body, in particular the nervous and circulatory systems. In this regard, it makes sense to observe certain precautions both at work and at home.

Forecast

The prognosis for treating numbness in the toes is usually favorable. Modern medicine has a sufficient set of methods and means that allow, if not to cure the cause of numbness in the limbs, then to stabilize the patient's condition quickly enough and correct the sensitivity of tissues and muscles.

It is more difficult if the numbness of the toes is caused by an oncological disease of the spine. Oncology treatment can be successful in the early stages of the disease, but most often patients, having noticed a decrease in the sensitivity of the hands or feet, seek help too late, when the tumor acquires large (and sometimes inoperable) sizes, having spread metastases throughout the body.
