Colds, acute respiratory viral infections and acute respiratory infections cause cough symptoms of different types. Milk with butter for cough is effective for both dry and wet attacks. The interaction of the two components has the following effect:

  • Softening of irritated mucous membranes.
  • Enveloping inflammatory tissues with a fatty film.
  • Rapid warming of the body.

Butter is a fatty product rich in proteins, vitamins, macro and microelements. Butter, vegetable and even essential oils are used to treat colds. There are several recipes for making medicinal drinks based on butter and milk:

  • Mix a glass of milk, two spoons of honey, a sprig of cloves, a couple of cinnamon sticks and nutmeg. Boil the mixture over medium heat for 30-40 minutes. Strain and take a tablespoon 4-6 times a day.
  • Take a glass of warm milk and add a tablespoon of vegetable oil to it. Mix thoroughly. This remedy is effective against coughing fits and also fights constipation well.
  • Add 20 g of melted butter to a glass of warm milk. Mix the ingredients until smooth. Take 1 glass 2-3 times a day.

Before using the above recipes, you should make sure that there are no allergic reactions to their components.

Milk with butter is excellent for relieving sore throats. These ingredients can be used for coughs from the first days of illness. The butter has a beneficial effect on the mucous membranes, enveloping them and creating a protective barrier. In combination with milk liquid, the cream product has the following effect on the body:

  • Relieves spasms.
  • Minimizes pain.
  • It warms.
  • Promotes liquefaction of phlegm and coughing.
  • Increases the protective properties of the immune system.
  • Relieves inflammation.
  • Saturates the body with useful nutrients.

Medicinal components should be used warm. When choosing milk, it is better to give preference to homemade milk with a fat content of at least 2.5%. The same recommendations apply to butter. A fatter product has pronounced enveloping properties.

To prepare the remedy, put a tablespoon of honey and ½ tablespoon of butter in a cup, mix thoroughly and pour in warm milk. Take 2-3 times a day until the discomfort disappears. Instead of butter, you can add cocoa butter to the drink. It has pronounced antibacterial properties and is effective for sore throats. The use of margarine, spread and other plant mixtures instead of a natural butter product is contraindicated.

Before using this recipe, please note that the high fat content of the oil can cause nausea and indigestion. This recipe is contraindicated for children under 1 year of age, for liver and gastrointestinal diseases, as well as lactose intolerance and obesity. If you have a weak digestive system, the oil can be replaced with vegetable fats. Goat, goose, badger or bear fat are good choices. But please note that such products have a very specific smell and taste.
