Lecithin is a medicine used in case of liver diseases; it is a lipotropic substance.

Phospholipids are the main element of all organelles and cell membranes, they are extremely important in the processes of cell metabolism, as well as in their detoxification and regeneration. The drug demonstrates intense hepatoprotective and membrane-stabilizing activity, and in addition helps to restore and protect the structure of liver cells. [ 1 ]

The drug is used for the treatment and prevention of the development of chronic and active forms of respiratory failure - it acts by correcting disorders of the phospholipid structure of the lung surfactant.

Indications Lecithin

It is used in combination treatment for the following disorders and pathologies:

  • fatty intrahepatic degeneration, which has different origins;
  • chronic form of hepatitis or its active phase during the rehabilitation period;
  • in case of gestosis in pregnant women;
  • liver intoxication caused by alcohol dependence or diabetes;
  • ischemic form of stroke, to improve the post-stroke condition - to increase mental and motor activity;
  • dyslipidemia or atherosclerosis;
  • pneumonia, chronic bronchitis, respiratory failure, bronchitis, rehabilitation period for obstructive bronchitis (in the active phase) and pulmonary tuberculosis.

Release form

The release of the therapeutic element is realized in capsules – 30 or 100 pieces in a bottle.

Pharmacodynamics

Lecithin is a part of the structure of myelin sheaths of neural fibers and cells, which helps conduct neuromuscular impulses along them. In addition, it helps restore the pulmonary surfactant system, increases the number of surface-active elements and stabilizes the biochemical indicators of air condensate exhaled by a person. Along with this, Lecithin reduces blood cholesterol values, lowers the atherogenic coefficient and improves the proportions of lipidogram readings.

Demonstrates an intense cardio- and hepatoprotective effect.

Dosing and administration

The medication should be taken orally - for an adult in a dosage of 1 capsule 2 times a day, and for a child - 1 capsule per day (the medicine is taken before meals). The duration of therapy is selected by the doctor individually, taking into account the course of the pathology.

  • Application for children

The drug can be prescribed to persons over 7 years of age.

Use Lecithin during pregnancy

The medication is used during pregnancy with the doctor's permission, in compliance with the prescribed dosage. As a lipotropic substance, it is used in case of gestosis in pregnant women.

Contraindications

Contraindicated for use in people with severe intolerance to the drug.

Side effects Lecithin

When taking capsules, people with hypersensitivity to Lecithin elements may experience the development of allergy symptoms.

Gastrointestinal disturbances may also occur: nausea or diarrhea (with prolonged use).

Storage conditions

Lecithin must be stored in a place away from small children and moisture at a standard temperature for medicines.

Shelf life

Lecithin can be used within a 36-month period from the date of sale of the medicinal substance.
