Pharmachologic effect
Indications Homviocorin-N
It is used for combination therapy in CHF (1-2 functional stages).
Release form
The product is available in drops for oral administration. The bottle has a capacity of 50 ml and is equipped with a dropper. There is 1 bottle inside the pack.
Pharmacodynamics
The medication is used to treat CHF. It contains plant-based cardiac glycosides:
- Adonis vernalis (strophanthin) – glycosides from the cardenolide category;
- May lily of the valley (convallatoxin);
- Drimia maritima (Scilaren-A with proscilaridin-A) is a category of bufadienolides.
The maximum daily dose of the medication contains approximately 0.9 mg of the active substance.
The cardiotonic effect develops due to the positive inotropic effect caused by blocking the activity of K + /Na + -ATPase, as well as by changing the indicators of Ca ++ ions inside the cells. In addition, there is a direct effect on cardiomyocyte contractile proteins (such as actin-myosin).
The negative chronotropic effect develops due to the suppression of the automatism of the sinus node activity.
The positive bathmotropic effect is expressed rather weakly – due to the fact that sea lily is used in small portions.
The natriuretic and diuretic effect develops due to the improvement of hemodynamic processes inside the kidneys, as well as their secretory function (by reducing tubular reabsorption and secretion of sodium) – with the participation of the glycosides and goldenrod described above.
The antioxidant and membrane-stabilizing effect develops under the influence of hawthorn contained in the medicine.
Dosing and administration
In the treatment of chronic forms of the disease, the initial dose is 10-20 drops, taken 1-3 times a day. It is also possible to increase the dosage to 30 drops, taken 3 times a day. The duration of the treatment cycle is selected individually, but it should last at least 2-3 months. After this period, a transition to a maintenance dose is made, which is 10 drops, taken 1 time per day or every other day. The maintenance dose must be taken for a long time.
The drops should be taken half an hour before or half an hour after a meal. The drops can be soaked in a piece of bread or sugar and then slowly dissolved. You can also wash down the dose with water, trying to keep the medicine in your mouth for as long as possible.
