CT myelocystorrhaphy is a method that combines the capabilities of CT and myelography. It is an invasive method of obtaining images, as it requires the introduction of a contrast agent into the subarachnoid space. Unlike myelography, a smaller (usually 2 times) amount of contrast agent is required. The method is used in stationary conditions to determine the patency of the cerebrospinal fluid spaces of the spinal cord and brain, in occlusive processes and in various types of nasal cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea (to determine the site of damage to the integrity of the subarachnoid spaces of the brain), in the diagnosis of cystic processes of intracranial localization.
