Myomatous nodes located under the mucous membrane of the uterus in 1-1.5% of cases tend to be expelled by the uterus.

This condition is called a “nascent node” and may be accompanied by a clinical picture of an “acute abdomen”, sharp cramping pains in the lower abdomen, and bleeding.

Diagnostics of a nascent submucosal nodule.

When making a diagnosis, anamnestic data indicating the presence of a submucous fibromatous node, a gynecological examination using mirrors (node in the vagina, smoothing and opening of the cervix) and palpation of the node during a vaginal examination play a major role.

What do need to examine?

Differential diagnosis

Differential diagnosis must be made with conditions such as uterine (interrupted) pregnancy and cervical pregnancy.

Who to contact?

Treatment of a nascent submucosal nodule.

Urgent surgery is indicated (transvaginal removal of the node with subsequent endometrial curettage). The node stalk is cut off under visual control (hysteroscope) or by palpation. If bleeding continues, a Z-shaped suture is applied to the area of attachment of the stalk.
