Pancreatic peptide is secreted by F-cells of the pancreas. Basically, the peptide reduces the contractile function of the gallbladder, increases the tone of the common bile duct and inhibits the endocrine function of the pancreas. As a rule, tumors from F-cells are detected accidentally during operations on the stomach, intestines, gallbladder. Its only manifestation may be an increased content of pancreatic peptide in the peripheral blood. Nevertheless, there are observations when the secretion of pancreatic peptide determined the development of ulcerogenic syndrome or pancreatic cholera syndrome.
