Release form

In case of severe sore throat, as well as painful sensations when swallowing, aerosols with an analgesic effect should be used, such as Tantum Verde or Kameton. Aerosol for sore throat for children

The most popular aerosols for sore throat for children are the following medications: Ingalipt, Geksoral, Kameton, Hexasprey, as well as Tantum Verde, Miramistin and Stopangin. The instructions for these medications prescribe a ban on the use of these sprays for children under 3 years of age. By the way, Hexasprey is only allowed from the age of 6.

If angina is accompanied by severe pain in the throat, preventing normal swallowing, then you should use combination drugs that provide an analgesic and disinfectant effect - these are Stopangin or Hexoral.

Aerosol for sore throat with antibiotic

Aerosols for sore throat with antibiotics are used in case of purulent or prolonged, severe sore throat. One of such drugs is Bioparox. Such sprays help to quickly eliminate the symptoms of the disease, and also prevent the development of possible complications. It should be taken into account that this type of medicine is rarely prescribed to children, and also that during the treatment it is necessary to undergo a full course, without stopping taking it immediately after the acute manifestations of sore throat disappear.

Pharmacodynamics

The properties of aerosols for sore throats are considered using the example of the drug Bioparox

Bioparox is an antibiotic with anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.

Chemical and biological experiments have shown that the drug affects streptococci: Streptococcus spp. group A, as well as Streptococcus pneumoniae and Staphylococcus spp. In addition, it affects some strains of Neisseria spp., anaerobes, Candida fungi, and Mycoplasma spp. The active substance of the drug - fusafungine - has a similar effect on the human body.

Fusafungine reduces the saturation of tumor necrosis factor (TNF-alpha) and also prevents the release of free radicals by mononuclear phagocytes (while maintaining the process of phagocytosis). This allows the active substance to have an anti-inflammatory effect on the patient's body.

Pharmacokinetics

After inhalation, the active substance of the spray (fusafungine) usually gets on the mucous membrane of the nasal and oral cavity, as well as the pharynx. Fusafungine is almost not absorbed into the blood plasma (the concentration is extremely low and is a maximum of 1 ng / ml), so the drug is safe for use.

Dosing and administration

Before using the aerosol, you need to gargle (with plain water) - this will remove excess mucus and pus so that the medicine will act more effectively on the inflamed areas. Before the procedure, you should press the spray can 1-2 times - this way the medicine will get to the nozzle. After that, you should insert it into the oral cavity and press, alternately directing it to the right and left. It is imperative to hold your breath before pressing - so that the spray does not get into the respiratory tract. Then you should try to swallow less saliva for 2-5 minutes, and do not drink or eat anything for 30-40 minutes after the procedure.

Aerosol for sore throat Yox is used 2-4 times a day. If there is an urgent need, it can be used every 4 hours.

Bioparox for adults is prescribed in the amount of 4 inhalations four times a day. For children over 3 years old, the dosage is 2-4 inhalations four times a day. The treatment course usually lasts a maximum of a week. Upon completion, you must consult a doctor to find out how effective the treatment was.

Hexoral for adults and children over 3 years old: a single dose should be administered for 1-2 seconds twice a day (it is best to carry out this procedure in the morning and evening). The duration of the treatment course is individual, it is determined by the attending physician.

Use sore throat sprays during pregnancy

Aerosols for sore throat for pregnant women must meet certain requirements, including: anti-inflammatory, disinfectant, and hypoallergenic properties. In addition, the spray must have a softening effect without irritating the mucous membrane.

One of the most popular drugs is "Aquamaris", which is a hypertonic solution of sea water. This spray has no contraindications, so it is allowed to use it at any stage of gestation - it will not have a negative effect on the well-being of the expectant mother or her baby.

Also, during pregnancy it is allowed to use "Bioparox", especially if the patient is in the first trimester.

Pregnant women can also use Stopangin for sore throat. But there are restrictions - this spray is not allowed to be used by pregnant women with a period of less than 14 weeks. In other cases, it is well tolerated and does not cause any complications.

Contraindications

Aerosols for sore throat should not be used in the following cases:

  • In case of allergy to the components of the spray;
  • Children who have not reached a certain age (for the drug Hexoral, for example, this is the age of up to 3 years);
  • There are some drugs that should not be used if you have diabetes or anemia;
  • For lung diseases or skin infections;
  • For heart disease.

Side effects sore throat sprays

Side effects of Yox spray include: it is usually well tolerated, but sometimes an allergic reaction (such as hyperemia, skin itching or urticaria), burning at the site of application of the drug, and dry mucous membranes may occur. If such reactions occur, you should stop taking the medicine. With prolonged use, the spray can cause iodism, in which the patient experiences increased salivation, a metallic taste in the mouth, and swelling of the larynx and eyelids.

A side effect of taking Bioparox may be an allergy, but in rare cases. Usually such reactions occur in patients who have a predisposition to allergies.

Common symptoms in these cases include such disorders as unpleasant taste, sneezing, reddening of the mucous membranes of the eyes; dryness of the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract, throat irritation, nausea and coughing may occur. In some cases, vomiting occurs, and very rarely, anaphylaxis. Problems with the respiratory organs may be observed - occasionally attacks of simple or bronchial asthma, laryngospasms, a feeling of shortness of breath, angioedema (also of the larynx). A rash or hives, as well as itching, sometimes appear on the skin.

Overdose

Overdose of Yox spray can be observed when swallowing the medicine - in this case, manifestations of acute iodine intoxication may occur. In this case, nausea, vomiting, metallic taste, diarrhea and abdominal pain are observed. For 3 days from the moment of swallowing the medicine, laryngeal edema is observed, which can even develop to a state of asphyxia, and in addition to this, anuria, pulmonary edema or aspiration pneumonia. Sometimes there is a violation of systemic blood flow.

When taking Bioparox, an overdose of fusafungine may occur. In this case, the following symptoms appear: a feeling of numbness in the oral cavity, dizziness, circulatory disorders, increased pain in the throat, and a burning sensation in it.

Hexoral - hexetidine can cause vomiting if a large amount of the drug is swallowed, so significant absorption into the bloodstream does not occur.
