Diet for diseases of the pancreas or other organs of the digestive system is an integral stage of effective treatment of the acute period and prevention of further exacerbations. Patients are prescribed diet number 5.

The pancreas secretes gastric juice, which is necessary for digesting food, and it also contains special cells that secrete insulin, which is needed to absorb glucose.

In the acute period of pancreatic disease, mechanical food intake is contraindicated in the first 3-5 days. You can only drink warm mineral water with a small percentage of alkali. The main nutrition is carried out intravenously - the patient is dripped with special nutrient solutions. In addition, it is recommended to apply cold compresses to the location of the gland. Cold reduces the secretion of juice, and the inflammatory process subsides.

As soon as the pain syndrome decreases, you can start drinking half a glass of yogurt every half hour, and after another day you can have cottage cheese, and after another 2 days boiled chopped products. Over time, the list of permitted products expands, but fatty, spicy, salty, pickled and fried foods are prohibited. In the chronic course of the disease, the diet should be followed constantly, you can eat stewed, baked, boiled dishes, fermented milk products, vegetables, fruits, cereals, but in small portions.

Recipes for pancreatic diseases

Recipes for diseases of the pancreas are simple, the main thing is that the food should not be fried, spicy, smoked or pickled. Of course, the diet will not lead to a complete recovery, but its observance, coupled with treatment with drugs and strict bed rest, will speed up recovery. The first three days usually fast and drink warm mineral water without gas, for example, Borjomi, you can have a little weak rosehip decoction. As soon as the acute period passes, a special diet is prescribed, consisting of pureed dishes. The food should be as gentle as possible - liquid, semi-liquid, not hot. Products containing coarse fiber are excluded, fats and carbohydrates are limited. Food should be taken fractionally, 5-6 times a day, in small portions.

  • You can make slimy soups from different grains in water or vegetable broth. To make soup, you need a weak broth of vegetables, fish or meat, ground grains, onions, and carrots. Pour boiling water over the onions and add them to the carrots while the broth is cooking, then add the grains when the broth is ready. Once the soup is cooked, cool it a little and strain through a sieve.
  • Steamed cutlets from lean poultry, or meat soufflé;
  • Fish dumplings or soufflés;
  • Steamed omelette or soft-boiled eggs, but no more than 1-2 eggs per day;
  • Milk in its pure form is contraindicated, only in some dishes;
  • Cottage cheese fresh or as steamed cottage cheese pudding;
  • Vegetable purees and puddings;
  • Non-acidic baked apples;
  • Compotes, kissels, jellies with xylitol and sorbitol, weak tea, Borjomi, rosehip infusion.

Diet for exacerbation of pancreatic diseases

The diet for exacerbation of pancreatic diseases is primarily aimed at reducing the mechanical and chemical load on the pancreas. In the first days of the acute course of the disease, cold, hunger and rest are indicated. That is, fasting, cold compresses on the pancreas and strict bed rest. You can only drink half a glass of warm mineral water without gas, a little weak rosehip decoction, weakly brewed unsweetened tea.

On the 3rd-4th day, after the acute attack has been stopped, a light, gentle diet is prescribed. It consists of mucous soups, strained liquid porridges, vegetable purees, and jelly. All dishes should be liquid or semi-liquid, boiled, strained or steamed. The diet is similar in nature to the menu for peptic ulcer disease, but with inflammation of the pancreas, a little milk is used and the number of eggs in the daily diet is limited.

Later, after 1-2 weeks, after the condition has stabilized, diet No. 5 in pureed form is recommended. As soon as the abdominal pains completely disappear, and the temperature normalizes, intestinal disorders disappear, you can switch to an unpureed diet.

There is no need to stick to a strict gentle diet in the future, but in order not to provoke new attacks of the disease, some foods should be abandoned once and for all.

Diet for a week for diseases of the pancreas

A diet for a week for pancreatic diseases is prescribed to normalize its function by reducing the secretion of pancreatic juice, which provokes inflammation. Of course, the disease cannot be cured by diet alone; a whole range of medications is needed.

In the first days of the disease, strict bed rest is prescribed, a cold compress on the pancreas area - this will help reduce secretion. Then for another week the patient is transferred only to intravenous nutrition, during this period you can only drink half a glass of warm mineral water without gas. After the pain subsides, you can drink half a glass of fermented baked milk every 40-60 minutes. After a week, you can switch to pureed diet No. 5 (p), but eat small portions and often.

When the condition finally stabilizes, after 1-2 weeks, you can switch to unleavened diet No. 5. The dishes are presented by a wider range of products - cottage cheese, egg whites, quenelles, meat and fish soufflés, butter in ready-made dishes. The dishes should be warm, served in small portions 6-8 times a day. The period of adherence to the diet is prescribed by a doctor, on average it lasts 12-14 days.

After recovery, you should stick to a special menu and exclude fried, spicy, pickled and fatty foods from your diet, so as not to provoke an exacerbation.
