The mysterious name diet #5 was invented and introduced into circulation by nutritionist Mikhail Pevzner. As well as the diet itself, by the way. We will tell you about the essence of the diet. It was invented not only for weight loss, but also for treatment.
Why was diet #5 invented?
It helps to get rid of diseases that have tormented a person for years: problems with the gallbladder, liver, kidney disease, in particular, if there are stones in the gallbladder, liver and kidneys.
These are quite complex diseases, in which a limited diet is possible. The Pevzner diet is used only by those people who do not suffer from gastrointestinal diseases.

When a person starts eating as Mikhail Pevzner recommends, he normalizes the functioning of the liver, gallbladder and bile ducts. The secretion of bile becomes more active. As a result, the patient feels much better.
The important things in Pevzner's diet
During the diet, a person consumes proteins and carbohydrates in the required amount, and there are few fats in it. Fiber, liquid and pectins (they are found in many fruits) occupy a prominent place in diet No. 5.
Pevzner does not recommend dishes that contain a lot of nitrogen (such as potatoes), acid (sorrel), cholesterol (eggs, mayonnaise).
When on diet #5, it is best to avoid fried and spicy foods. This is bad for the gallbladder and liver.
It is also better not to eat cold vegetables (from the refrigerator) when on diet No. 5.
On the Pevzner diet, meat is mashed or ground in a blender, as are vegetables.
Pevzner does not recommend sautéing vegetables and especially not adding flour to fried vegetables.
During diet No. 5, it is recommended to eat fractionally, 5-6 times a day.
How much protein and fat can be included in the daily diet for diet No. 5?
- Proteins - 100-110 grams.
- Fats 60-70 grams.
- Carbohydrates - 450-500 grams.
- Salt - no more than 8-10 grams.
How many calories per day are recommended for diet #5?
Quite a lot, for a person with good physical activity - 3000-3200 kcal per day.
How to calculate the menu during diet No. 5?
Breakfast from 8.00 to 9.00
Vinaigrette seasoned with sour cream, butter, bread, medium-fat cottage cheese, herring soaked for 24 hours (up to 20 g), tea with milk.
Afternoon snack from 12.00 to 13.00
Boiled or baked meat, buckwheat porridge with water or milk, freshly squeezed juice.
Dinner from 16.00 to 17.00
Vegetable soup without meat with sour cream, sauerkraut, boiled fish with boiled potatoes and carrots, fruit compote (fresh).
Second dinner from 19.00 to 20.00
Pasta casserole with low-fat cottage cheese, cabbage cutlets (baked), fruit and berry compote.
Third dinner at 22.00
Kissel made from berries and fruits, unsweetened bun without butter in dough.

Allowed foods during the Pevzner diet
- Soup is the basis of the diet. They are prepared on vegetable broth with cereals. Soups can also be prepared with milk, fruits.
- Pork meat, steamed or baked (and also tongue, beef, lean ham).
- Poultry meat (usually chicken).
- Fish and black caviar (fish can be filled with sauce).
- Dairy and fermented milk products (sour cream, low-fat cottage cheese, fermented baked milk). Dairy or fermented milk products are allowed to be consumed up to 200 g per day on the Pevzner diet. From them (or with them) you can make pancakes, cheesecakes, vareniki and enjoy the taste.
- Porridge cooked in water, to which milk is added after cooking.
- Puddings.
- Pasta or vermicelli baked with cottage cheese or milk or sour cream.
- Bread (dried) - you can eat white, black and grey. Flour products that can be eaten also include unseasoned crackers, biscuits, sponge cake (dry), unsweetened buns or pies. Flour products for the Pevzner diet are prepared without butter and margarine.
Hard-boiled eggs are allowed (no more than 1 per day). You can allow yourself an omelette from one egg, but no more.
Diet No. 5 also recommends greens and raw vegetables. Vegetables can also be used to prepare side dishes for meat.
Berries and fruits are also allowed. They can be eaten raw and baked. For example, baked apples.
Pevzner does not starve people for days without sweets in his diet, allowing them to eat jam from natural fruits, various jams and preserves from berries, as well as honey (especially flower honey), marshmallows, marmalade, candied fruits and even sugar. But there are restrictions - up to 70 grams per day.
Diet No. 5 also includes juices, natural, of course – from vegetables and fruits. Even coffee with milk or cream, tea with milk (it is well absorbed), herbal decoctions, in particular, vitamin decoction of rose hips are allowed.
Butter and vegetable oils are allowed and can be added to porridge and salads during the diet.
It is allowed to consume sauces made from berries, fruits and dairy products.
Greens and spices can also be used in diet No. 5, seasoning dishes with them.
Prohibited foods in the Pevzner diet
- Alcoholic beverages.
- Anything fried, raw and hot smoked, spicy foods.
- Fatty meat, fatty fish, internal organs (liver, heart, lungs).
- Canned foods.
- Beans.
- Mushrooms.
- Onions, radishes, garlic, turnips, sorrel.
- Very rich baked flour product.
- Cocoa products (coffee), chocolate in all its forms, including hot chocolate.
- Any kind of carbonated drink.
- Vinegar in dishes.
- Salt (partial ban on this product – no more than 10 grams per day).
