At all times, clean and smooth skin on the face has been a sign of beauty and health. Skin cleaning with a laser beam is currently very popular, since the results are impressive, and the procedure itself is not accompanied by painful sensations. In addition, laser facial cleaning excludes direct contact with hands or instruments, so there is no possibility of infection during the procedure.
Advantages and disadvantages
The main advantages of this method are remote action, ensuring maximum sterility; precision - the laser beam affects only the damaged skin; no need for anesthesia, since the procedure is virtually painless; fast action and long-term positive effect; no side effects - unevenness, scars.
The laser disinfects and renews the skin, stimulates the synthesis of its own collagen, and enhances its protective functions. The work of the epithelial cells of the sebaceous gland ducts is normalized, and the duct itself is disinfected.
The disadvantages of laser facial cleansing include:
- immediately after cleansing, the skin on the face is bright pink or red (3-5 days);
- there may be painful sensations;
- For two weeks after the cleansing, you cannot use scrubs, peeling products or decorative cosmetics;
- this procedure cannot eliminate serious cosmetic defects – deep wrinkles, scars;
- Until the skin condition returns to normal, you should not consume alcoholic beverages, sweets, or pickles.
Indications for the procedure
Indications for this procedure: skin characterized by increased oiliness with large pores and uneven surface, wrinkles, pimples, acne, comedones, pigmentation and other imperfections.
Laser facial cleansing has a number of advantages over other similar procedures: it dries the skin and this effect lasts for a long time, inflammatory processes pass and the restoration of the facial surface occurs quite quickly.
The laser beam affects all types of acne at different stages. Its effectiveness becomes noticeable after the first procedure, each subsequent session helps to narrow the pores, smooth the surface, eliminate clogged pores and the development of bacterial microflora. Laser facial cleansing from acne gives a noticeable aesthetic effect already in the first week.

Preparation
When preparing to put yourself in the hands of a master, you need to make inquiries about him, read reviews, and talk to him.
Before laser cleaning, you should stop visiting the beach or solarium two weeks before, and in the summer, wear a hat with wide brims that protect your face from the sun's rays. In addition, do not do any procedures on the areas to be cleaned, especially using chemicals. Do not steam the skin in these areas three days before the procedure. If you have recently had facial cleansing done using other methods, be sure to inform the cosmetologist who will be performing the procedure.
Before the procedure, the skin is cleaned of decorative cosmetics, dust and fat, and disinfected. After that, laser cleaning of problem areas of the skin is performed.
Technique laser facial
The technology of cleaning skin defects with a laser beam is based on the superficial destruction and removal of contaminated and dead parts of the skin. In place of the removed layer of epidermis, new, young and healthy skin cells are formed.
The skin is treated with a laser at a shallow depth (superficial low-traumatic procedure), while the basal membrane is not damaged. In addition, the laser beam stimulates the process of cell proliferation, and the rehabilitation period does not last long. An undamaged basal layer of the skin guarantees non-interference in the process of activity of pigment cells - melanocytes, which eliminates the appearance of increased or insufficient pigmentation in the treated areas.
Contraindications to the procedure
This procedure, like any other, has some contraindications:
- neoplasms;
- exacerbation of herpes;
- diabetes mellitus;
- epistatus;
- course of application of photosensitizing drugs;
- exacerbation of infectious and inflammatory diseases;
- skin's tendency to scar;
- blood diseases;
- history of acute vascular diseases (heart attack, stroke);
- cardiac implants and similar devices in the prospective client.
Laser facial cleansing is not recommended for women with normal, dry and sensitive skin types; with combination skin types, the procedure is performed on areas with oily skin types.
Recommendations regarding age are ambiguous and are interpreted differently in different sources. Some say the minimum age for this procedure is 16 years, while other sources indicate a lower limit of 22-25 years. The upper age limit is not always indicated, but there are restrictions for people over 60 years old.
There are also different interpretations regarding pregnant and breastfeeding women - either a strict contraindication, or after consultation with a doctor. Since this is a temporary condition, sometimes accompanied by reactions that are atypical for a woman, it is better to refrain from the procedure.
For laser facial cleansing, a carbon dioxide or erbium laser is usually used.
Carbon dioxide is used for hot skin cleaning. It is effective in cases of removing rough facial skin defects – scars, stretch marks. With hot cleaning, there is a risk of burns and a longer regeneration process.
On the thin skin around the eyes, it is better to use an erbium laser - a device that performs cold peeling.
There are devices that combine the action of these two types of lasers, which increases the possibility of optimizing the procedure and increasing the level of safety.
Laser technology is a high-precision device, so damage to healthy skin, residual effects in the form of scars and marks are excluded. The laser is individually adjusted for each client. The duration of the procedure is half an hour or a little more. There is no pain during the session, the client should feel only warmth. Minor discomfort is possible on sensitive areas with thin skin.
Along with the removed layer of skin, the cosmetologist also removes problems - pimples, acne, demodicosis, etc. After completing the cleansing, the cosmetologist applies herbal compresses to the treated skin, and then a moisturizing cream.
Consequences after the procedure
The consequences of the cleaning are redness of the face and slight swelling, which subside on their own rather quickly. To eliminate them, it is recommended to apply cold compresses to the treated areas and moisturize with a water-based cream. Allergies and hypersensitivity phenomena in the treated areas are not excluded.
Incorrect selection of settings can lead to serious consequences. Complications in the form of skin inflammation may occur. They are treated with ointments containing antibiotics or antiviral components. In this case, you should consult a dermatologist.
Darkening of the color of the treated areas may be a result of non-compliance with the cleaning rules.
Care after the procedure
Post-procedural care does not require the use of expensive products. In the morning, it is advisable to choose mineral water for washing, as a tonic and mineralizing agent. Daily skin cleansing is carried out, in order to avoid overdrying, with alcohol-free products.
Alcohol, pickles and sweets are temporarily excluded from the diet, as products that impair blood microcirculation and slow down metabolic processes, and, consequently, the restoration of the skin, and also do not use decorative cosmetics, scrubs and peels.
Limit exposure to adverse weather conditions (sun rays, hot weather, wind, cold). They can negate the achievements of laser cleaning. Before leaving the house, apply a protective cream with SPF> 40.
Temporarily avoid visiting the beach, solarium, swimming pool, and sauna.
The duration of the recovery period depends on the individual qualities of the skin and the scope of the procedure. Usually – from five days to two weeks.
Achieving a lasting effect occurs after two to four procedures. Laser facial cleansing can be repeated after a month.
At the moment, this is the most effective way to get rid of superficial skin defects, and at the same time – of an inferiority complex. The successful use of laser peeling is confirmed by quite a few examples.
You need to approach the choice of a salon and a cosmetologist seriously, carefully studying the recommendations and reviews, then you can confidently expect a positive result.
