Following a diet is an important condition, without which it is impossible to cure diseases of the digestive system. Pancreatitis is no exception - inflammation of the pancreas. The diet involves excluding those products that can negatively affect health, and including in the diet products that will promote recovery and restoration of normal functioning of the body. Today, more and more specialists notice that beets for pancreatitis can significantly alleviate the patient's condition and promote rapid recovery.

Can you eat beets if you have pancreatitis?

Beetroot can be used for pancreatitis, as it has a positive effect on the pancreas. Both the root and the leaves are used for medicinal purposes. Today, there are many varieties that differ in shape, color, and have different properties. However, these properties do not affect the medicinal qualities.

Beetroot is useful in any form for pancreatitis. Juice stimulates the secretion of pancreatic juice. Boiled, it normalizes metabolic processes, improves peristalsis and intestinal motility. Fresh juice contains a large amount of vitamins and sugars, which strengthens the body, increases endurance, and the body's ability to recover. Porridge and puree from fresh beetroot eliminates the inflammatory process.

Beetroot for acute pancreatitis

Beetroot contains many active components that relieve inflammation. Fresh beetroot puree is especially useful for relieving inflammation. The expected effect is achieved due to the high content of polysaccharides, organic acids, and vitamins.

Polysaccharides are complex carbohydrates that are easily broken down by gastric juice, releasing nutrients and energy. Research has revealed a variety of biological activities, including antibiotic, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antitumor, and antidote.

Organic acids have acidic properties, in the form of salts or in free form are contained in the composition of cell juice. They increase the secretion of saliva, pancreatic and gastric juice, provide the necessary level of acidity. As a result, intestinal peristalsis is enhanced, stagnation is eliminated, and putrefaction processes in the intestine are suppressed.

Vitamins are biologically active components of various chemical structures that participate in metabolic processes and the formation of enzymes. They increase the amount of pancreatin produced, affect not only the functions of the stomach and pancreas, but also increase the endurance of the body as a whole. They increase the strength of capillaries, improve the cellular structure, which has a positive effect on the work of all organs and systems.

Beets also contain chemical elements that normalize metabolic processes in the body, activate enzymes, participate in hormonal metabolism, and participate in the process of tissue respiration.

Beetroot for chronic pancreatitis

In chronic pancreatitis, beetroot normalizes metabolic processes, prevents the development of inflammatory processes, and prevents the development of relapses. This effect is achieved due to the high content of such polysaccharides as camellias, mucus, and pectin substances in beetroot.

Gums are colloidal translucent sticky substances of various chemical structures and origins. They dissolve well in water and do not dissolve in alcohol. Due to these properties, they act as emulsifiers. They perform a protective function: they slow down the absorption of toxins and drugs from the intestines, which prolongs their action.

Mucus is a nitrogen-free compound that has a softening and enveloping effect. It is used to protect mucous membranes and normalize the functioning of glandular and parenchymatous organs.

Pectin substances are part of the intercellular adhesive substance, close to gums and mucus. In the presence of organic acids and sugars, they form jellies that have absorbent properties and an anti-inflammatory effect. The gelatinous substance normalizes the composition of pancreatic juice, and also binds toxins, facilitating their removal from the body (act as sorbents). They improve digestion, help remove excess cholesterol from the body.

Beetroot for exacerbation of pancreatitis

Beetroot is useful in case of exacerbation of pancreatitis, as it has high nutritional value with minimal load on the stomach and pancreas. This is achieved due to the high content of polysaccharides. In this case, polysaccharides that are easily absorbed and processed by the body predominate: monosaccharides, disaccharides. It is better to use dark-colored varieties of beetroot, as they contain the juiciest pulp filled with active components. It is the coloring properties that provide the healing properties of beetroot and determine its importance in dietary nutrition. It is necessary to choose healthy, clean root vegetables, without mechanical damage.
