Aside from a corset, there's nothing better for back pain relief than these tips from a physical therapist.

Check your mirror.

You may often find yourself slouching during long car rides. Set your rearview mirror at a slightly higher angle so that every time you look into it, you remind yourself to relax your shoulders and sit up straight.

Take a towel.

Sitting for long periods of time is hard on the discs in your lower back. A rolled-up towel sandwiched between your lower back and your seat will relieve the strain. Keep one in your office and one in your car.

Get rid of your laptop.

It's designed for portability—and bad posture, because the keyboard is attached to the screen. If you can't work without it, use a separate keyboard, like the Stowaway Bluetooth ($150).

Squat.

Whenever you pick something up from the floor, remember that you should squat down and not bend over from the waist.

Use your time wisely.

Limited movement is hard on your back. Take extra time, such as going to a colleague and verbally delivering your message instead of sending it via email. Take frequent breaks when you work from home.
