A neurophysiological interpretation of the energy aura phenomenon, which is seen by people practicing non-traditional medicine, is suggested.
Some people claim that they can see a person's aura - the color contour surrounding the body, beyond the "simple eye". One of the most popular "aurovidtsev" - healers and healers, which affect the aura and energy field. Their healing abilities can be treated differently, however, as psychologists from the Institute of Granada (Spain) say, they accurately see the aura, and this phenomenon has a completely scientific neuropsychological explanation.
As scientists write in the journal Consciousness and Cognition, the energy color invisible to normal people can be manifested due to synaesthesia. This neurophysiological phenomenon is characterized by excessive formation of connections between neurons in the brain. In this case, the signals begin to exchange such areas of the brain, which usually do not. So it turns out that a person begins to see, for example, the sound in color. Synesthesia often happens in people who are engaged in art and, perhaps, in those who are engaged in alternative medicine.
The authors studied the auric abilities of many representatives of alternative medicine and came to the conclusion that most of them have at least one of the synesthesia options, when the area of the brain responsible for identification of the appearance gets connected with the area that recognizes the colors. In addition, a person has a reflective synaesthesia, when in response to touch or pain felt by others, you begin to feel the same in yourself. It can well help to see the aura and empathy, as well as the accents of the schizotypic manifestations in the psyche, if the person is not sick, but is occasionally able to bluff and predispose to mild paranoid attacks.
In a word, energy witch doctors do not lie when they say they see your aura and feel your pain. It's another matter how much that they can see has a direct relationship to the objective reality. It should be noted that the authors of the article, like true scientists, distributed various ideas about the phenomenon of aura: according to them, they absolutely did not affect the aura, which is interpreted by sacred and esoteric texts describing the mechanism of divine spheres. This aura differs from that seen by sorcerers, and it is hardly possible to explain it by means of synaesthesia.
