"The population of Ukraine as of April 1 was 45.54 million people," the State Statistics Committee said.

The total population decline in January-March amounted to 54.3 thousand people. According to statistics, as of January 1, about 45.78 million people lived in Ukraine. Of the total population of the country, the city on April 1 was 31.2 million people.

According to the last census of Ukraine, conducted on December 5, 2001, 48 million 457.1 thousand people lived in the country.
