The population of the Earth, which currently stands at just under 7 billion people, will increase to 10.1 billion by the end of the century, according to a report prepared by UN experts.

As predicted by experts, the world population will exceed 7 billion people in October 2011. By 2023 there will be 8 billion people in the world, 9 billion in 2041, and 10.1 billion by 2100. According to experts, the largest population growth will occur in regions with high birthrates - in Africa to the south of the Sahara, Asia, Oceania and Latin America. According to forecasts, the number of people on the African continent will triple - from 1 billion now to 3.6 billion by the end of the century.

As UN officials explain, in these developing countries there is no state policy on birth control, polygamy is developed, women are married at an early age and are not informed about contraceptive methods. At the same time, population growth will be noticeable in developed countries. According to experts, the population of the United States, Denmark and Great Britain will increase. The average life expectancy in the world will also increase, from 68 years now to 81 years in 2100.
