The government and scientists of China have long been struggling with industrial and other emissions, negatively affecting the health of the inhabitants of the country. The most polluted city is Shanghai. At the end of last week, experts recorded a record level of air pollution. The last time to the same indicators, Shanghai managed to approach the spring of 2007.

Minor precipitation, which fell at the beginning of last week, led to the fact that the city fell mud rain. Sandstorms are added to the general unfavorable situation. One goes from the north, the other from the coast.

Doctors recommend that tourists and residents of the city wear protective masks. However, they are unlikely to help people with respiratory problems. Some experts criticized the authorities, accusing them of the fact that preventive measures (for example, planting trees) could improve the ecological situation.

According to a specialist from Fudan University, Dong Wenbo, the greater the distance between the sandstorm and the smaller the particles remain in the air. Therefore, rain can precipitate only a small part of large, solid particles. In this regard, the air pollution in Shanghai has already reached a record 500 units. At the same time the indicator of 300 units is considered dangerous for human health.
