The most common cow's milk will help in the treatment of malignant tumors of the stomach. Chinese specialists conducted a series of experiments, during which they discovered unique substances in the composition of milk that suppress the growth of cancerous tumors of the stomach.

Experts have studied the enzymes in milk in more detail and have come to the conclusion that the protein of one of them – lactoferricin B 25 – significantly reduces the viability of cancer cells in malignant tumors of the stomach – adenocarcinoma. However, the strength of the effect on the growth of cancer cells depends on the duration of action and the amount of this compound. One of the authors of the scientific research is confident that their discovery will help in the near future to create unique means for the effective treatment of stomach cancer.

Scientists continue to study the properties of the protein lactoferricin B25 to identify the mechanism of action on atypical cells in gastric cancer. In the near future, specialists plan to begin new studies in laboratory conditions.

Previously, Swedish scientists conducted studies that showed that milk helps in the treatment of not only this form of cancer. Malignant cells in the rectum slowed their growth under the influence of the protein lactoferricin 4-14, which Swedish specialists were able to isolate. During the studies, scientists exposed cells taken from the colon to UV radiation in order to disrupt the structure of their DNA and make them similar in properties to cancer cells. As experiments showed, lactoferricin 4-14 significantly suppressed the growth of malignant tumors. At the same time, healthy cells developed without changes.

But experts are sure that the anti-cancer effect of milk does not end there, this product needs to be studied in more depth. At the same time, scientists are sure that the opinion of doctors that milk is extremely harmful for elderly people is wrong. It is elderly and old people who are more susceptible to oncological processes in the gastrointestinal tract, so regular consumption of milk will help protect the body from such diseases.

Stomach cancer is the most common form of malignant tumors today. Usually, the disease proceeds without pronounced symptoms and early diagnosis of the disease occurs when there are complaints of concomitant diseases. Most often, stomach cancer is diagnosed in the late stages of the disease, when the prognosis is quite unfavorable. Radiation therapy cannot be used in treatment, since tumors in the abdominal cavity are not sensitive to radiation. The main method of treatment for cancerous tumors of the stomach is surgery, after which, in some cases, it is possible to use radiation therapy. However, an organism exhausted by the disease cannot always withstand a difficult operation.

The scientists' discoveries give hope that in the future medicine will have means to effectively combat this disease without resorting to surgical intervention.
