Warts on the eyelids are a common contagious skin disease.
The causative agent of warts on the eyelids is a filterable virus. Trauma that increases skin moisture and a general weakening of the body's resistance are important.
How do warts on the eyelids appear?
Common, or vulgar, warts on the eyelids are round, hemispherical, pea-sized, sharply demarcated papillary growths, the color of normal skin or grayish, or darkish with dry horny layers. Sometimes they merge, forming large plaques. The skin of the eyelids, the edges of the eyelids, the corners of the eyes, and the neck are affected.
Juvenile warts on the eyelids are flat, slightly raised above the surface, covered with delicate grains, yellow-light brown in color.
