The superior gemellus muscle (m.gemellus superior) originates on the ischium, the inferior gemellus muscle (m.gemellus inferior) - on the ischial tuberosity.

Superior and inferior gemellus muscles

Function of the superior and inferior gemellus muscles: rotate the thigh outward.

Innervation of the superior and inferior gemellus muscles: muscular branches of the sacral plexus (LIV-LV, SI-SIII).

Blood supply to the superior and inferior gemellus muscles: inferior gluteal, obturator and internal pudendal arteries.
