Indications Tylolfen

The product is used individually by the attending physician. The main indication for the use of Tylolfen is the symptomatic treatment of influenza. The product allows you to quickly get rid of the annoying disease and alleviate the person's condition from the first minutes of taking the drug.

The medicine is also used for colds. Its action is aimed at destroying the main virus in the body and restoring protective functions. Tylolfen is suitable for both children and adults. As for children, it is recommended to take Tylolfen from the age of twelve.

The medicine helps eliminate diseases accompanied by severe fever, severe headache and rhinitis. Literally after a couple of doses, a person will feel much better. The composition of the product allows it to be taken by absolutely everyone, but there are still some contraindications. This issue will be covered below.

Release form

The product is made in the form of a powder for dissolution. It is taken exclusively orally. One sachet contains 20 mg of powder. The package contains 6 or 12 sachets. The drug is not available in any other form. In addition to the sachets with the medicine, the package contains instructions. If they are missing, a person has the right to request them from a pharmacist.

20 grams of powder contain both active and auxiliary components. The main substances include: paracetamol in a dosage of 500 mg, chlorpheniramine maleate 4 mg and phenylephrine hydrochloride 10 mg. The auxiliary components are: sodium benzoate, tartaric acid, sodium carbonate anhydrous. The picture is completed by: sugar, quinoline yellow, lemon flavoring, anhydrous citric acid, PVP K30, refined sugar. All these components together allow the product to easily combat the main symptoms of colds and flu.

Tylolfen hot

This is another type of the drug. Tylolfen Hot is produced in the form of a powder that must be dissolved in a glass of hot water. The composition of the drug includes: paracetamol, chlorpheniramine maleate and phenylephrine. The auxiliary components are: refined sugar, lemon flavoring, anhydrous citric acid and PVP K30. Together, these substances are able to get a person back on their feet in a short time.

The dosage of the medication is prescribed by the attending physician depending on the severity of the symptoms. Usually, no more than 4 sachets are taken per day. They should be taken every 6 hours. Literally after a couple of uses, a person will feel relief. Both adults and children can take Tylolfen Hot. However, children should not be under 12 years of age.

This is a very powerful and effective drug. 3 days of treatment are enough to completely eliminate negative cold symptoms. If there is no effect, you should consult a doctor.

Pharmacodynamics

The product has a pronounced analgesic and antipyretic effect. It is an excellent antihistamine drug that can relieve any swelling. This effect is achieved due to the content of paracetamol. Additional action is provided by: chlorpheniramine maleate and phenylephrine hydrochloride. The active components are the basis of pharmacodynamics.

Paracetamol. This substance is capable of providing an analgesic effect and reducing body temperature. It has an analgesic effect due to the increase in the pain threshold. The antipyretic effect is achieved by influencing the thermoregulation center located in the hypothalamus.

Chlorpheniramine maleate. This component is an H1-histamine receptor antagonist. It helps relieve nasal congestion and eye hypersensitivity.

Phenylephrine. It is a postsynaptic α-receptor agonist. Its action is aimed at stimulating the central nervous system. It has a direct effect and has a vasoconstrictor effect. It actively fights swelling of the nasal mucosa and its sinuses.

Pharmacokinetics

When taken orally, paracetamol is perfectly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. Its maximum concentration in the blood plasma is reached 10-60 minutes after administration. Due to this, relief comes almost immediately. This is not the only pharmacokinetics property. Paracetamol is able to be evenly distributed in most tissues of the body. The half-life does not exceed 3 hours. Metabolism occurs in the liver. Almost 85% of the dose taken is excreted in a bound form within 24 hours.

Chlorpheniramine maleate. Absorption is slow, occurs through the gastrointestinal tract. The maximum concentration of the drug in the body is achieved 6 hours after administration. Most of the substance is absorbed with plasma proteins. The half-life varies between 2-43 hours. Most of the substance is metabolized. Tylolfen unchanged and together with metabolites is excreted in the urine.

Phenylephrine. Absorption occurs through the gastrointestinal tract. When taken orally, the component has a vasoconstrictive effect.

It persists for 4-6 hours. The component is excreted unchanged and together with metabolites in the urine.

Dosing and administration

It is advisable to consult your doctor before using the medication. This will allow you to choose an individual dosage depending on the severity of the symptoms. Method of administration and dosage of Tylolfen have a standard application scheme. However, it is not suitable for everyone.

Adults and children should use one sachet of the drug every 6 hours, but not more often. Due to the powerful active ingredients, it should not be used often. The contents of the sachet are dissolved in a glass of hot water. If it is difficult to drink Tylolfen in its pure form, you can add a little sugar or honey.

To avoid hepatotoxic risk in case of alcohol consumption, the dose of paracetamol should not exceed 2 grams per day. The duration of treatment is 3 days. If there is no therapeutic effect and the body temperature remains elevated, it is necessary to change the treatment regimen.

Use Tylolfen during pregnancy

The product is not recommended for use during pregnancy. The fact is that it contains powerful active components that can harm the developing organism. Tylolfen can be used during pregnancy only on the recommendation of a doctor and with his permission. In this case, the dosage is adjusted individually.

The first trimester of pregnancy should be spent in complete rest and not overloaded with medications. This period is the most dangerous. During it, there is a risk of abnormal development of the baby and even spontaneous miscarriage. Therefore, taking any medications should be strictly agreed with the attending physician. This will help to avoid possible pathologies in the baby.

When using any medication, it is necessary to compare the positive effect for the mother with the risks for the baby. During pregnancy, the life of the child is in the hands of the expectant mother. Therefore, it is necessary to control all actions, in particular, self-medication.

Contraindications

Any remedy has its contraindications, Tylolfen is no exception. It is not recommended to use it if you have hypersensitivity to one of the components of the drug. Uncontrolled use can lead to the development of an allergic reaction. Another contraindication for use is a pronounced violation of liver function. Taking the drug can cause a severe blow to this organ.

The drug should not be used in acute myocardial infarction. Contraindications include arterial hypertension, as well as complicated retinal angiopathy. Tylolfen is not recommended for use in cases of severe atherosclerosis of the aorta and cerebral vessels.

The list of contraindications does not end there. You should refuse the medication if you have diabetes, bronchial asthma and glaucoma. Finally, children under 12 years of age are prohibited from being treated with Tylolfen.

The possibility of visual impairment and increased intraocular pressure cannot be ruled out. The digestive system may react with gastrointestinal disorders. In particular, nausea, vomiting and dry mouth appear.

Overdose

There have been no reports of adverse reactions from the body. Despite this, an overdose is not excluded. It is associated with uncontrolled medication intake. Paracetamol has a toxic effect. Overdose is characterized by the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, and pain in the epigastric region. They can appear 1-2 days after taking the drug. Paracetamol can cause a pronounced effect on liver cells and renal capillaries. The possibility of necrosis is not excluded.

In case of overdose of another active component, namely phenylephrine, slightly different symptoms occur. The person is very excited (this symptom is expressed in children), convulsions, headache and behavioral changes occur. In this case, it is necessary to immediately wash out the stomach. There is no antidote for paracetamol and phenylephrine.

After gastric lavage, the patient's condition should be monitored and symptomatic treatment should be administered if necessary. Sorbents should be taken and the respiratory system and blood circulation should be monitored.

Interactions with other drugs

This medication should not be combined with sleeping pills. This may lead to depression of the central nervous system. A similar effect occurs when interacting with other drugs, in particular analgesics and MAO inhibitors.

Concomitant use of antihistamines and Tylolfen may result in an atropine-like effect. A similar effect occurs when taking antidepressants, antiparkinsonian drugs and antispasmodics. This may lead to the development of dry mouth, urinary retention and constipation.

Using Tylolfen together with Furazolidone leads to increased side effects. This can happen when the medication is used simultaneously with thyroid hormones and sympathomimetics.

When used simultaneously with nitrates, their therapeutic effect may be weakened. Barbiturates can reduce the antipyretic effect of Tylolfen.

Storage conditions

In order for the drug to serve for a long time, it must be stored correctly. Optimal storage conditions include the fulfillment of three main criteria. First of all, it is necessary to observe the temperature regime. Its indicator should not exceed 25 degrees. Tylolfen cannot be stored in the refrigerator. The second rule states: the medicine should always be in a dry and dark place. This will preserve its pharmacological properties for a specified time. Finally, the third rule: the drug should be kept away from children. If all the prescribed criteria are met, the medicine will serve for several years.

After opening the package and diluting the powder, it must be used immediately. It is not recommended to prepare the product in advance. In this case, it will lose all its basic properties and will not have the desired effect. Storage conditions play an important role in the "existence" of all medications, in particular Tylolfen.

Shelf life

If all storage conditions are met, Tylolfen will last for 3 years. When the expiration date has expired, it is not recommended to use the product. How Tylolfen will behave and how it will affect the human body is unknown. The development of serious allergic reactions and poisoning is possible. It is also quite likely that the product will simply have no effect.

During the entire shelf life, special storage conditions must be observed. Pay attention to the appearance of the powder. It should not change color, smell or taste. Otherwise, this indicates improper storage. The product cannot be stored in a damp place. It is available in the form of powder in sachets. In damp conditions, Tylolfen can get wet. This will lead to the product becoming unusable.

Children should not be allowed near the storage area of the drug. They may harm themselves and the medicine. Proper storage is the key to a long service life of any product.
