Teleradiography is intended to determine the true (or close to them) dimensions of the image of the facial skeleton.

In connection with the complex structure of the skull, it is necessary to produce radiographs in two mutually perpendicular projections - the straight and lateral.

For the convenience of making calculations and excluding damage to the image, the anatomical landmarks with the X-ray diffraction patterns are transferred to a tracing paper or transparent film.

Measurements on the teleradiography can mathematically characterize the features of growth and development of various parts of the skull and their relationship in a particular patient.

Craniometric analysis of orthodontists and surgeons is used to diagnose and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment of deformities of the facial skull and various anomalies of the occlusion.
