In mild cases of intestinal disorders, potato starch can be used for treatment. It has a positive effect on the digestive system and has the following effect on the body:

  • Improves intestinal peristalsis.
  • Relieves inflammation of the mucous membranes of internal organs.
  • Binds and coats intestinal contents.
  • Promotes healing of damaged tissues.
  • Removes toxins and harmful bacteria from the body.

Ways to use potato starch:

  1. Grate the potatoes and squeeze. Take 50 ml of juice and take 1 teaspoon 3 times a day.
  2. Swallow a tablespoon of dry potato starch and wash it down with a small amount of water. Repeat the procedure 2-3 times during the day.
  3. Dissolve 2 tablespoons of starch in a glass of warm water. Take until the painful symptoms are completely eliminated. Instead of water, you can use a decoction of chamomile or mint.

In addition to the above recipes, various fruit jelly with starch can be used for treatment.

Starch with iodine

Another folk remedy for eliminating diarrhea is starch with iodine. To prepare the medicine, take the following ingredients:

  • 50 ml of warm water.
  • A heaping teaspoon of potato starch.
  • ½ teaspoon sugar and lemon juice.

Dissolve starch in warm water and add the remaining ingredients. Once the solution has cooled completely, add 150 ml of boiling water and stir thoroughly. Wait for it to cool again and add a teaspoon of 5% iodine (alcohol tincture).

The combination of iodine and starch has an antiviral, antifungal and antimicrobial effect. It inhibits pathogenic microorganisms that cause intestinal disorders.

Iodine for diarrhea

An effective remedy for treating frequent loose stools is iodine. It is used for diarrhea in combination with other components, since it is dangerous in its pure form. Traditional medicine offers the following iodine-based recipes for intestinal disorders:

  1. Dissolve four teaspoons of potato starch in 100 ml of boiled water. Add a teaspoon of sugar and a pinch of citric acid to the resulting mixture. Mix well to avoid lumps or sediment. Boil 300 ml of water, cool slightly and add to the starch solution. Bring the mixture to a boil and cool. Add a teaspoon of iodine and stir until blue. Drink the resulting jelly in small portions throughout the day.
  2. Dissolve two teaspoons of starch in 100 ml of water and mix thoroughly. Boil a glass of water and add the starch solution. Add a teaspoon of iodine to the finished jelly. Cool the product in a dark, cool place and take 2-3 times a day in equal portions.

There are also iodine-containing products that enhance the effect of folk recipes and help normalize bowel function. The most useful and rich in iodine are: hake, salmon, flounder, shrimp, tuna and catfish.

Treatment with iodine is contraindicated in diseases of the cardiovascular system and thyroid gland. Folk remedies are not recommended for use during pregnancy and lactation, during the menstrual period, for the treatment of children, as well as in combination with potassium permanganate and medications.
