Pharmacodynamics
The antiseptic Sanguiritrin acts on a large number of pathogenic microbes, including gram (+) and gram (-) bacteria, yeast and mycelium. The drug is active against microbial strains resistant to most antibiotics.
Standard dosages of Sanguiritrin have a bacteriostatic effect – they stop the growth and reproduction of infection.
The essence of the antibacterial effect of the drug consists in the suppression of microbial nuclease, disruption of the mechanisms that ensure cellular permeability, metabolic processes within cells and disruption of the nucleotide structure.
Pharmacokinetics
There is no data on the penetration of the external antiseptic Sanguiritrin into the systemic bloodstream, therefore the kinetic properties of the drug cannot be described.
Dosing and administration
The antiseptic Sanguiritrin is used only as an external agent.
On the fifth or sixth day after the birth of the child, the preparation is applied to the skin folds, morning and evening.
In case of periodontal inflammation, cotton swabs with Sanguiritrin are placed in the gum pockets, holding them for about 20 minutes. To prepare a less concentrated aqueous solution of Sanguiritrin, mix 1 teaspoon of 0.2% alcohol solution and 200 ml of clean boiled water. Cotton swabs are inserted every day or once every two days. The general course of treatment involves 5-6 procedures.
For the treatment of stomatitis, application of Sanguiritrin is prescribed up to three times a day for 3-5 days. Older children can be recommended to rinse the mouth with a diluted solution. For small children under 5 years of age, the diluted preparation is applied directly to the mucous membrane.
To treat colds, tonsils are treated with 0.2% liquid at night for 3-4 days. Older children and adults can gargle with a warm diluted solution. Duration of treatment is up to 1 week.
In case of ear inflammation, cotton swabs soaked in 0.2% Sanguiritrin are inserted into the auditory canals and left for 15 minutes. The procedure is repeated up to 3 times a day. The duration of therapy is at least 14 days. If the inflammatory process is chronic, Sanguiritrin is dripped into the auditory canal 5-7 drops for an adult patient, and up to 2 drops for children.
To prevent wound complications, treat the wound with a gauze napkin soaked in 0.2% Sanguiritrin. You can leave a compress with an antiseptic under the bandage. The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor, depending on the healing of the wound surface. Most often, one week may be required for partial wound healing.
In the presence of infection in the wound, in case of sluggish, difficult-to-heal processes, diluted Sanguiritrin is used for rinsing and applying lotions.
For gynecological diseases, the diluted solution is used for douching, applications and baths. The procedures are carried out every day for 5 days, 1-2 times (for example, in the morning and evening).
For purulent skin diseases or dermatomycosis, 0.2% Sanguiritrin is used in the form of dressings or applications to the affected areas, up to 2 times a day. The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor.
