Increased gas formation in the intestines (flatulence) is a very common phenomenon in our time, as it is directly related to our diet. Wrong food, overeating, irregular eating patterns, stress - all this sooner or later affects our digestion. How to deal with it? Are there effective remedies for flatulence that will eliminate discomfort for a long time and will not harm the body?
The fact is that there are more than enough drugs available in modern pharmacies to eliminate bloating. But which one should you choose?
[ 1 ]
What to drink for flatulence?
In order to choose the medicine for flatulence that will help you, you should first understand the reasons for the bloating. Analyze what and how you have been eating lately, how you have spent your time. Were there any stressful situations at work or at home, etc. In order to choose the right thing to drink for flatulence, answer the following questions:
- Have you consumed foods that provoke increased gas production in the intestines (peas, beans, fresh milk, white cabbage, large amounts of fruit, baked goods)?
- Have you changed your usual diet or started a new diet?
- Maybe you've been overeating?
- Have you ever suffered from diseases of the gallbladder or duodenum, enzyme deficiency, or low acidity of gastric juice?
- Could anything negatively affect the balance of microflora in the intestine, for example, a course of treatment with antibiotics, glucocorticoid drugs or chemotherapy drugs?
- Have you been under stress lately? It may even be chronic stress: an unloved job, constant nagging from your boss, or unkind attitude from your colleagues. Psychogenic causes of flatulence are very common, so you shouldn't discount the work of our nervous system.
Observe yourself and determine the possible cause of discomfort: what exactly could have caused the bloating? If the cause is known, then finding a remedy for flatulence will be much simpler and easier.
Activated carbon for flatulence
Activated carbon is used not only for poisoning, intoxication and digestive disorders, but also for flatulence. Carbon has the property of absorbing harmful substances that cause fermentation and the development of putrefactive processes in the intestines: in this case, the drug does not enter the systemic circulation, but comes out with feces, removing toxic and other harmful substances.
One tablet of activated carbon is too small a dose to eliminate flatulence. In order for the treatment effect to be noticeable, one tablet should be taken per 10 kg of weight. That is, if a person weighs 60 kg, then his optimal dose of activated carbon will be 6 tablets at a time.
Taking too many tablets at one time (much more than the recommended dose) is also not recommended, as this can cause difficulty in bowel movements in the form of constipation. However, if this happens, do not worry: within a few days, the stool will return to normal on its own.
Smecta for flatulence
Smecta, like activated carbon, has the ability to adsorb a lot of harmful substances: toxins, viral and bacterial infections.
Smecta for flatulence is prescribed according to the following scheme:
- Adult patients take 1 pack three times a day;
- babies up to 12 months can take 1 pack/day;
- children from 12 months to 2 years take 1 pack/twice a day;
- Children starting from 2 years of age take 1 pack/2-3 times a day.
Before use, Smecta must be diluted in 100 ml of non-cold water. For small children, the product is diluted in porridge or juice.
The duration of treatment with the drug is from 3 days to 1 week. It is ideal to take the drug between meals.
Smecta is an effective drug not only for bloating, but also for diarrhea or poisoning. The product is available in the form of a powder for dissolution in liquids, which is sealed in 3 g sachets.
Enterosgel for flatulence
Enterosorbents eliminate the signs of flatulence by removing bacteria from the intestines that cause active gas formation. Another representative of sorbent drugs is Enterosgel, which is produced in the form of a gel or paste for internal use.
Enterosgel for flatulence is taken 2 hours before meals or 2 hours after. The frequency of administration is three times a day, with a sufficient amount of water.
- Adult patients and children over 14 years of age take 15 g at a time, up to 45 g/day.
- Children from five to 14 years old take 10 g of the drug at a time, up to 30 g/day.
- Children from the first days up to 5 years of age consume 5 g of the drug at a time, the daily maximum is 15 g.
The duration of therapy for excessive gas formation with Enterosgel is approximately 1-2 weeks, depending on the persistence of flatulence symptoms.
During the first day of using the drug, short-term constipation may develop. In such cases, elderly people are recommended to use an enema. Constipation passes without any intervention within 2-3 days.
Duphalac for flatulence
Dufalac is a laxative that activates intestinal motility and helps restore intestinal microflora. Dufalac is not used for flatulence, moreover, in some cases, if used incorrectly, the drug itself can cause bloating. The thing is that after taking Dufalac, the flora in the intestines begins to actively multiply. The intestines are not able to react so quickly to such changes in microflora, which is why flatulence occurs.
In order to avoid flatulence when taking Dufalac, the drug should be taken very carefully, gradually (not abruptly) increasing the dosage. Children start taking the drug with drops. Older children and adult patients are prescribed the drug as follows:
- the first two days, 1 ml;
- the next two days, 2 ml;
- on the fifth and sixth days – 3 ml each.
In this way, the dose is brought up to 5 ml once a day, preferably at night.
In some cases, for example, with flatulence against the background of putrefactive intoxication dyspepsia, Dufalac can be used. However, the decision to use the drug in this case should be made by a doctor.

Espumisan for flatulence
Espumisan is probably one of the most common drugs for flatulence. This drug, which belongs to the group of antifoam agents, has a number of undeniable advantages over other drugs:
- Espumisan can be used to eliminate bloating, regardless of the reasons for its appearance;
- the drug does not penetrate into the systemic circulation, so it can be used by adults, children, and pregnant women;
- if necessary, the drug can be used over a long period;
- Espumisan can be combined with almost any other medication;
- The capsules can be swallowed without even drinking water.
Espumisan for flatulence can be taken in the form of capsules, drops or emulsion. Small children are usually prescribed the emulsion.
Adults and children over 6 years of age take 2 capsules up to 4 times a day, preferably after breakfast, lunch and dinner and immediately before going to bed.
Espumisan acts quickly and effectively: the active ingredients of the drug destroy the structure of gas bubbles, as a result of which the gas is no longer formed and immediately leaves the intestines or is absorbed into the intestinal walls.

Trimedat for flatulence
Trimedat is a trimebutine preparation, which is an antispasmodic. Since Trimedat acts throughout the entire intestinal tract and normalizes, first of all, the motor function of the intestine, the drug is most often prescribed for problematic peristalsis, gastroesophageal reflux, dyspeptic disorders, intestinal spasms. However, Trimedat is also effective for flatulence, because it is able to restore the natural physiology of the intestine. The only disadvantages of the drug are that it is not recommended for children under 3 years old, pregnant women in the first trimester, and during breastfeeding.
Drug dosage:
- Adult patients and children over 12 years of age use 100 to 200 mg of Trimedat three times a day;
- children from 3 to 5 years old use 25 mg of the drug three times a day;
- Children over 5 years of age and up to 12 years of age use 50 mg three times a day.
If necessary, treatment can be long-term: for a month or more.
Linex for flatulence
Linex is, first of all, a drug that restores the microflora in the intestines, as it contains a live form of bifidobacteria, lactobacilli and enterococci. In this regard, Linex is recommended for dyspepsia, dysbacteriosis, digestive disorders, and also as a probiotic for the prevention of intestinal disorders.
Linex for flatulence can bring an effect, but not an immediate one. To eliminate the signs of increased gas formation, the drug will have to be taken in a course, until the intestinal flora and physiology are completely normalized.
The drug is taken after meals, with a sufficient amount of water (not cold and not hot, so as not to disrupt the vital activity of live bacteria). Most often, the recommended dosage consists of 2 capsules, which are taken three times a day. Infants use 1 capsule three times a day. Small children are allowed to open the capsule and mix the contents with juice or formula.
The drug can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Enzymes for flatulence
As is known, the causes of increased gas formation can be different: violation of the diet, poor quality food, intestinal and stomach diseases. Therefore, often, along with taking special carminatives and diet correction, drugs are prescribed that normalize the amount of pancreatic enzymes.
Enzyme deficiency can be observed in chronic pancreatitis, overeating and insufficient chewing of food, which, in turn, can provoke the development of flatulence.
If bloating occurs as a result of chronic pancreatitis (based on diagnostics), and specifically, due to a deficiency of pancreatic enzymes, then the treatment regimen should include medications that contain the missing enzymes. This may be Mezim forte, Smecta, Creon, Pancreatin forte, Pancreatin, etc. The dosage is determined by a pediatrician or gastroenterologist individually.
Enzymes for flatulence restore normal and complete digestion of food, which prevents stagnation of food masses and the development of putrefactive processes in the intestines, causing increased gas formation.
Mezim for flatulence
The properties of the drug Mezim are aimed at eliminating the lack of pancreatic enzymes and facilitating the digestion of food. The drug contains pancreatic enzyme substances such as protease, lipase and amylase, which accelerate the processing and absorption of proteins, lipids and carbohydrate foods in the small intestine.
Mezim eliminates unpleasant symptoms of flatulence and also prevents the appearance of a feeling of heaviness and discomfort after overeating, eating dry food, or eating foods that are unusual for the body.
The drug is taken immediately after meals, without chewing the tablets, with water or other liquid. The average dosage for an adult is from 1 to 3 pills per day. The frequency of administration and the amount of the drug depend on the level of enzyme deficiency.
The duration of taking Mezim can be limited to one or two tablets at a time, or continue for several days (in case of digestive disorders as a result of a violation of the diet), months and even years (in case of chronic disorders of the pancreas).

Herbs for flatulence
Traditional medicine offers many remedies for treating bloating. Herbs are often used for flatulence, because, unlike medications, they have a beneficial effect on the body without causing side effects.
Chamomile: pour 1 teaspoon (full) into 200 ml of boiling water and filter after 2-3 minutes. Drink in small sips throughout the day (in the amount of 200-600 ml per day, depending on the severity of the symptoms of flatulence). You can also brew sage leaves.
Calamus root: grind the dry raw material to a powder state. Pour 1 teaspoon of ground root into 200 ml of boiled water at room temperature, leave overnight. In the morning, heat the liquid (do not boil), then filter. Divide the resulting medicine into 6 portions. Immediately before taking, the portion should be heated and drunk. The number of portions is calculated for one day.
Dill tea has a good effect: brew a tablespoon of dill in a glass of boiling water, like tea, and drink 40-50 minutes after eating. You can add caraway, parsley, chamomile and other carminative herbs to this tea.
Dill for flatulence
Dill has a rich and valuable composition. Thanks to its useful components, this popular plant perfectly normalizes digestion, relieves symptoms of intestinal disorders and diseases of the urinary system.
Dill has diuretic and choleretic properties, in addition, preparations and dishes made from dill relieve intestinal spasms and relax its walls.
In modern medicine, dill is used both fresh (salads, cocktails) and in medicinal forms (in the form of infusions, decoctions, etc.).
For example, popular (especially in pediatrics) dill water is made from dill extract (1:1000). Dill water is known for its ability to relax the tone of smooth muscles, affect intestinal motility, and expand the lumen of blood vessels.
The usual use of dill for flatulence: brew 1 tbsp. of finely chopped dill in half a liter of boiling water, leave for 60 minutes, drink 100 ml three times a day, 15 minutes before meals or 40-50 minutes after.
It is useful to add dill to all kinds of dishes: soups, side dishes, salads, unsweetened pastries and casseroles.
However, more often than dill grass, dill seeds are used for flatulence.

Dill seed for flatulence
An infusion of dill seed can be prepared as follows: pour 1 tbsp. of crushed dill seed into 250 ml of boiling water, leave for 20 minutes under a lid, filter and drink a quarter of a glass up to 6 times a day 15 minutes before meals.
Dill seed for flatulence, dyspeptic disorders, epigastric and intestinal pain can be prepared in another way: brew 1 teaspoon of crushed seed in 250 ml of boiling water, leave for 2 hours (can be in a thermos), then filter. Children should take 1 tablespoon three times a day, and adult patients can take 100 ml also three times a day before meals.
Infusion and decoction of dill seed are also used to normalize appetite and digestive processes, relieve gastrointestinal spasms, as a carminative, to increase the secretion of gastric and pancreatic juice, and to improve the outflow of bile.
Chamomile for flatulence
Chamomile flowers are used mainly in the form of an independent infusion, or as part of complex medicinal collections. Chamomile can be used for acute and chronic gastritis, gastric ulcers, diseases of the duodenum, and inflammatory processes in the intestines. The best effect is observed from the combined use of chamomile flowers with such plants as calendula and yarrow. As a result of this combination, pain, belching, bloating, discomfort in the stomach and intestines are eliminated.
For intestinal spasticity and flatulence, brew a special tea that consists of chamomile flowers, valerian root, mint leaf, caraway seeds and fennel in equal quantities. About 1 tbsp of this mixture is infused in a thermos with 200 ml of boiling water for 20 minutes, then filtered and consumed 100 ml in the morning and at night.
The simplest recipe is chamomile tea in bags, which is sold in almost any store or pharmacy. Such bags for one-time brewing can be brewed throughout the day and drunk instead of regular tea.
Fennel for flatulence
Fennel and common dill are very similar in chemical and pharmaceutical properties. At the same time, the effect of these plants on the functionality of the digestive system is practically no different at all. Galenic preparations of fennel and dill enhance the secretory activity of the glands of the digestive tract, stimulate bile production, eliminate spasms, stabilize peristaltic activity, and have a certain antimicrobial effect.
Fennel for flatulence is most often used in the form of an infusion: 2 tbsp. of fennel are poured into a thermos and 250 ml of boiling water are added, infused for 15 minutes, cooled and filtered. This infusion is consumed one third of a glass up to 4 times a day. Store in the refrigerator for no more than 2 days.
Fennel can be easily purchased in pharmacies: it is produced in the form of dry raw materials in 100 g packages, or in the form of fennel oil. The oil is a transparent liquid without a specific color, but with a clear specific smell, similar to the aroma of anise. This oil is mixed with water or other liquids: it copes well with flatulence, and is also indispensable for bronchitis and dry cough.

Caraway for flatulence
The beneficial properties of caraway are actively used for flatulence. Caraway is able to stimulate the production of gastric juice, suppress the development of putrefactive processes in the intestines, relax the intestinal muscles and stabilize the function of the entire digestive tract as a whole.
Caraway is recommended to be added to dishes for those prone to increased gas formation, as well as for intestinal atony and impaired bile secretion.
When making remedies for flatulence, caraway seeds are often combined with other plants, such as valerian root, chamomile flowers, immortelle, etc.
Caraway oil is used for internal use, up to 3 drops on a piece of sugar, up to 5 times a day.
Water with caraway seeds is used for bloating in infants, 1 teaspoon at the first signs of flatulence.
You can make your own caraway seed infusion: pour 2 tbsp. caraway seeds into a thermos and add hot water (250 ml), filter after 15 minutes and cool. Take 60-100 ml 2-3 times a day after meals. The infusion can be stored in the refrigerator for no more than 2 days.
Ginger for flatulence
In Eastern countries, ginger is actively used for flatulence, fermentation and pain in the intestinal area. Often, in addition to ginger in the East, cardamom, cumin, fennel, ajavan, asafoetida and other spices are added.
For flatulence, ginger is used fresh, dried, fried and steamed, added to dishes and brewed into aromatic ginger tea.
- Finely chop a piece of fresh ginger (4-5 cm), add 2 cloves of garlic and pour 2 liters of boiling water into a thermos. Leave for about 2 hours. Filter and drink hot little by little throughout the day. Important: all 2 liters must be drunk before the end of the day.
- Pour boiling water over the ginger root and let it steep, add a little honey and lemon juice before drinking. Special lovers of ginger tea can add a few mint leaves, green tea or cardamom seeds.
If there is an increase in temperature against the background of flatulence, then taking ginger preparations is not recommended.
If increased gas formation bothers you too often, you can simply add ginger to most of the dishes you eat: first courses, meat, fish, salads, sauces. Ginger is also successfully added to desserts, kissels and fruit drinks.
Antifoams for flatulence
What are antifoams and how do they help with flatulence?
Most of the gases in the intestines are represented by fine-bubble foam, which covers the intestinal walls with a fairly thick layer over a considerable area. During peristalsis, the mucus is even more saturated with gases, the foam increases in volume, often filling the entire free intestinal cavity. The mucus itself has a fairly high density, so it disappears very slowly, filling the intestines and stretching the walls, causing intestinal pain.
To accelerate the settling of foam and reduce foaming reactions, defoamers are used. Such agents include Espumisan, Antifoamsilan, Disflatil, Sab-simplex, etc.
As a rule, the main active components of antifoaming agents are dimethicone and simethicone. These substances provoke the weakening of gas bubbles, which after some time burst and merge, as a result of which the foam is destroyed and decreases in volume.
Antifoams for flatulence can be used in the form of drops (Disfatil, Sab-simplex), effervescent tablets (Pepfiz), regular tablets (Unienzyme, Pancreoflat), capsules (Espumisan, Meteospasmil), emulsion (Espumisan), suspension (Maalox), gel (Pepsan).

Tea for flatulence
Recipe for tea against flatulence and increased gas formation in the intestines:
- Ingredients: 4 single-use bags of chamomile tea, 4 single-use bags of mint, 1 teaspoon of fennel or dill seed, 1 teaspoon of marjoram seasoning;
- Pour 1 liter of boiling water over all ingredients, cover with a lid and let it brew for 10-12 minutes. Filter. Drink instead of tea all day.
It is useful to drink regular black or green tea (without sugar) with the addition of the following components:
- chamomile color;
- dill seed;
- wild carrot seed;
- parsley root;
- caraway;
- ginger;
- oregano or thyme herb;
- blackberry or strawberry leaves;
- angelica leaves or root;
- valerian root;
- St. John's wort.
It is useful to add cumin, ginger root or cayenne pepper to drinks. And to prepare an effective tea from marjoram and cumin, use the following recipe: 1 tbsp. ground seeds should be brewed in 250 ml of boiling water, infused for 15 minutes and drink 100 ml in the morning and at night.
At the first symptoms of flatulence, the following drink helps: mix ½ teaspoon of cardamom with 1 teaspoon of cumin and 1 teaspoon of fennel, add a slice of ginger and steam with 200 ml of boiling water. After 15 minutes, add a little cinnamon and drink 15-20 minutes before eating.
Kefir for flatulence
Kefir has long been considered one of the healthiest foods. However, does kefir help with flatulence?
Most experts recommend including fresh kefir in your diet. Its main property is to normalize the intestinal microflora, especially in cases of dysbacteriosis, facilitating digestion processes. The fermented milk product also helps remove toxic substances from the body and inhibit the proliferation of pathogenic bacteria. It is not for nothing that kefir is recommended to be drunk after food poisoning.
However, despite all the advantages of this product, it can worsen the situation with flatulence: kefir increases intestinal peristalsis, which can increase the accumulation of gases.
Fresh kefir for flatulence is recommended to be used little by little and for a long time, until the intestinal flora is completely stabilized. If you feel that gas formation has increased, reduce the amount of kefir consumed. The duration of eliminating dysbacteriosis with fresh (no more than three days old) kefir can be 2-3 weeks.
If you have high acidity of gastric juice, it is not advisable to consume kefir.
Ayurveda for flatulence
A common problem for most vegetarians is flatulence, which is associated with the consumption of large amounts of fiber and legumes. Ayurveda can offer a simple but very effective remedy for flatulence:
- prepare a mixture of honey, lemon and ginger juice (1:3:3);
- single dose – 7 drops of honey, 20 drops of lemon juice, 20 drops of ginger juice.
At the first sensation of bloating, take 1 teaspoon of cumin (zira), chew well, swallow and wash down with a prepared remedy of honey and juices. The discomfort should subside almost immediately.
If you have difficulty getting ginger juice, just grate the root on a fine grater and add lemon juice and honey to this mass. Snack on the chewed cumin with this gruel.
Among other remedies that Ayurveda offers for flatulence, the following can be mentioned:
- add ginger root to dishes;
- After each meal, eat a little of this mixture: cumin, fennel seed and ajwain (in equal parts). Chew the mixture, swallow and wash it down with 50 ml of warm water;
- Consume 1 clove of garlic at night for a week.
If you have bloating, avoid raw foods, legumes, and only eat and drink warm foods.
Homeopathy for flatulence
Before starting treatment with homeopathic medicines, it is necessary to detect and eliminate the factors that initially provoked the development of flatulence. All dishes and products that could contribute to the formation of increased gas should be excluded from the diet. In case of enzymatic deficiency, overeating should not be allowed under any circumstances, sometimes, if necessary, taking enzyme preparations. If bloating is associated with a violation of the intestinal microflora, then kefir and preparations with live lacto- and bifidobacteria (probiotics) will help. It is necessary to stabilize intestinal function in order to prevent diarrhea or constipation. When eating poor-quality food, sorbents should be taken, for example, activated carbon.
In our country, homeopathy for flatulence most often turns to Heel products:
- Nux vomica Gommacord drops - 10 drops three times a day, or in case of particularly pronounced flatulence, every 15 minutes, until the condition returns to normal;
- Gastricumel sublingual tablets – 1 tablet three times a day.
These drugs eliminate excess gas formation and also have a general positive effect on the digestive tract.
Enema for flatulence
Excessive gas accumulation in the intestines can be successfully eliminated by administering a cleansing enema. To fill it, use warm boiled water or warm chamomile infusion (steam 1 teaspoon of chamomile flowers in 200 ml of boiling water, leave for 20 minutes and filter). After the patient has been given the required amount of liquid, he should try to hold it in for several minutes. To do this, you can lie on your back, placing a heating pad with warm water on your stomach.
The enema will have a more pronounced effect if after the procedure you additionally drink a cup of chamomile tea, an infusion of parsley rhizome, tea with mint or dill leaves, or thyme.
However, if the signs of flatulence appear suddenly, then it is not recommended to use an enema, a heating pad, or laxatives: such procedures are used only in the case of prolonged flatulence, otherwise they can only worsen the situation and increase gas formation. In case of sudden bloating, the best solution is to drink carminative tea and install a gas-discharge tube.

Carminative for flatulence
The main group of drugs that have a carminative effect in flatulence, promote damage to gas bubbles and the settling of bubbly foam in the intestines. These drugs include products based on dimethicone and simethicone: Tsiolat, Sab-simplex, Tirozol, Meteospasmil, Espumisan.
Among herbal preparations, we can recommend Bebinos drops, which consist of extracts of chamomile, fennel and coriander.
Carminative action has also been noted for some antispasmodic drugs (drotaverine, no-shpa), as well as drugs that are prescribed for enzyme deficiency (mezim, festal, enzistal, pancreatin). The use of such drugs is advisable when flatulence is caused by spasms or disruption of the digestion process.
Carminatives are very effective against flatulence, but they have one significant drawback - such drugs can hinder the absorption of other drugs in the digestive system. It is not recommended to combine carminatives with antacids, especially with high doses of such drugs.
Candles for flatulence
Suppositories for flatulence are used only if the bloating is associated with stagnation of feces and prolonged constipation. In all other cases, suppositories can worsen the situation and increase gas formation.
For constipation due to flatulence, the most commonly used suppositories are glycerin, Bisacodyl (Dulcolax), Calciolax and Ferrolax (with sodium bicarbonate and citric acid).
In pediatric practice, homeopathic suppositories Viburkol are used for flatulence. These are herbal suppositories containing extracts of chamomile, belladonna, nightshade, plantain, and pasqueflower. Using Viburkol for flatulence in children helps to normalize the function of the still unformed regulatory systems in the intestines, as well as to start the adaptation processes.
Viburkol is used for flatulence according to the following scheme:
- children from 0 to 3 years old – 1 suppository twice with an interval of 1 hour, then 1 suppository 1-2 times a day, but no more than 4 suppositories per day;
- children from 3 to 6 years old use 1 suppository twice with an interval of half an hour, then 1 suppository up to 3 times a day;
- children under 14 years of age use 1 suppository at intervals of half an hour, then 1 suppository up to 3 or 4 times a day;
- Adults use the drug in the amount of 2 suppositories up to 4 times with intervals of half an hour, then - 2 suppositories up to 3 times a day.
Massage for flatulence
If flatulence occurs quite frequently, then a week-long course of special acupuncture massage can help get rid of the problem.
By pressing certain points, alternating with clockwise rotations, it is possible to eliminate increased gas formation in a relatively short time. Each point should be exposed for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Point #1 is located in the center of the navel. It is massaged when the patient is lying on his back or sitting with his knees bent.
- Point No. 2 is located 2 cm below the navel.
- Point No. 3 is located 10 cm above the navel, above the epigastric region.
- Point #4 is located approximately 4 cm above the center of the wrist. It is massaged while sitting, with the hand lying palm up.
- Point #5 is located five cm to the right and left of the navel. They are massaged simultaneously.
- Point #6 is located at the outer base of the big toe nail.
- Point No. 7 is located between the little finger and the ring toe.
- Point No. 8 is located at the base of the index finger of the hand.
You can also stabilize your bowel function using the following techniques: pour 2-3 drops of olive oil into the navel area and massage your stomach, making clockwise spiral movements from the navel area. If bloating is accompanied by diarrhea, make the movements in the opposite direction.
If you have flatulence, try to move more and do exercises: physical activity helps speed up the removal of gases from the intestines.
The best remedy for flatulence
The best remedy for flatulence depends on the exact cause of the increased gas formation. After the doctor has established this cause and announced the diagnosis, he can prescribe treatment depending on the cause found. Pro- and prebiotics (Lactofiltrum, Linex) can be prescribed to normalize the intestinal flora. A number of drugs are also known that affect the formation and release of gas from the intestinal cavity:
- carminatives (Espumisan) - inhibit the formation and destroy gas bubbles in the intestine. The released gases are subsequently absorbed by the intestinal walls or excreted with peristaltic movements;
- sorbent preparations (activated carbon, Smecta) – remove toxic substances, bacteria and gas-forming substances from the intestines;
- drugs that enhance peristalsis (Motilium) – eliminate flatulence caused by stagnation of feces due to prolonged constipation and putrefactive processes in the intestines;
- herbal preparations (Plantex) and folk recipes (fennel or chamomile infusion).
In most cases, the listed drugs have the expected effect, but it is important to remember that they only eliminate the symptom without eliminating the original cause of flatulence. If after treatment the signs of increased gas formation return, it is necessary to consult a doctor and find the cause of bloating in order to normalize the broken links in the digestive chain.
Anti-flatulence medications should be prescribed by a doctor. Remember that a healthy digestive system is always an indicator of the health of the entire body.
