Regime. Diet

Bed rest or semi-bed rest. No specific diet required, table No. 13.

Drug treatment of ornithosis

Etiotropic therapy: doxycycline 0.1 g twice a day until the third day of normal temperature, but not less than 10 days. In case of slow regression of the process in the lungs - until the 10th day of normal temperature (up to 3 weeks). Alternative drugs - erythromycin at a dose of 0.5 g 3-4 times a day according to a similar scheme and azithromycin - 0.5 g / day once, up to 10-12 days.

Pathogenetic therapy: bronchodilators, expectorants, during the convalescence period - physiotherapy.

In case of protracted, recurrent and chronic course outside of exacerbations, treatment is indicated in pulmonology sanatoriums in the climatic zone of the place of residence.

Forecast

Mortality is less than 1%, the incidence of chronicity is up to 10%.

Approximate periods of incapacity for work

The period of incapacity for work is 7-10 days for the flu-like form, 20-40 days for the acute course of the pneumonic form. In case of a protracted and chronic course, the period of incapacity for work, limitation of work capacity (disability) are established by the commission.

Clinical examination

It is carried out for at least 1 year.
