The main (expectorant) effect is due to the saponins contained in the grass, and thanks to flavonoids, recipes with primrose help remove swelling and reduce inflammation in the bronchi.

Dosing and administration

For colds and bronchitis, recipes are used based on leaflets, roots and rhizomes of the plant.

Leaves: 3 tbsp. Dry crushed raw materials pour a half liter of boiling water and insist 1-2 hours. It is best to make infusion in a thermos and drink it for a day in small portions.

2 tablespoons dry leafs pour a glass of water and boil for twenty minutes. We take a medicine for 1 tbsp. 4 times a day.

Roots and rhizomes: We take shredded raw materials in an amount of 1 tbsp, pour 1 tbsp. Boiling water and soaked in a water bath for 30 minutes, pre-covered with a lid to prevent water from evaporating. The composition is cooled, filtered and we add warm boiled water to it so that the glass with the medicine is complete. We drink the prepared norm during the day for 3 times.

Contraindications

Storage conditions

Harvesting of roots and rhizomes should be carried out in the spring, before the beginning of flowering of the plant, or already in the autumn period, when it will fade. Leaflets and flowers must be harvested in the spring-summer period (during the flowering period of the primrose).

To store the roots is recommended in tissue bags (linen or cotton), and flowers and leaves should be placed in glass jars and covered with lids, so that they do not take on moisture. The shelf life of roots, flowers and leaves of the primrose is 2 years.
