What diseases cause pain in the testicles?

Not always painful sensations in the scrotal area can be caused by some kind of disease. In most cases, they occur after mechanical damage - most often a stroke. Although a blow to the inguinal zone of a man and can knock him off his feet, and even send to a swoon, but really damage the testicles themselves is thus extremely difficult. But in the event that the damage was caused by a sharp object (cutting, stitching), it is necessary to seek medical help as soon as possible in order not to lose the childbearing function completely. If there is pain in the testicles, the doctor may suspect the following diagnoses:

  • Epididymitis is an inflammation of the epididymis. In fact, in this case, the focus of pain is in the appendage itself, but since it is located in close proximity to the testicle, men complain about the pain in it. The cause of this disease is mainly gonococci or chlamydia. These bacteria are also capable of causing urethritis, and are most often transmitted sexually. Although, of course, there is the possibility of getting these bacteria from the external environment.
  • Testicular torsion is a more teenage phenomenon, which is much less common in adult men. The testicle is held on the seminal cord, consisting of the vas deferens and the blood vessels. Under the words "torsion of the testicle" is meant a 360 degree twisting of the spermatic cord itself. In this case, the blood supply to the testicles stops and within a few days it dies. Unfortunately, many men, not seeing signs of mechanical damage, seals or inflammation in the scrotum, prefer to endure this terrible pain in the testicle. As we see, this is very risky and does not lead to anything good. The fact that testicular torsion often occurs in sleep and at low temperatures is surprising.
  • Orchitis is a fairly rare cause of pain in the testicles. It is an inflammatory process, the focus of which is directly in the testicle. Such a diagnosis is possible if the patient has had a "mumps", since orchitis is its complication. Many people are mistaken, suggesting that orchitis after viral mumps necessarily leads to infertility. This pattern is very rare. Only in 10% of cases at the patient one testicle is atrophied. And this does not affect either childbearing or sexual function. Atrophy of both testicles occurs in exceptional cases.

In addition to the above reasons for the occurrence of pain in the testicles, there are a number of other:

  1. Unsatisfied sexual arousal. If a young man experiences it often enough, then this is the risk of pain in the scrotum. Such pain eventually passes, but, nevertheless, the discomfort from it is quite palpable. If this situation occurs quite often, then it makes sense to satisfy sexual arousal through masturbation.
  2. Inguinal hernia. In rare cases of the lowering of the rectum and its pressure on the scrotum, this diagnosis can provoke pain in the testicles.
  3. Varicocele is also very rarely diagnosed with this type of pain, but it can still provoke soreness of the testicles.
  4. Psychosomatics. Sometimes the pain in the testicles has absolutely no diagnosed causes. In this case, it is better for a man to seek help from a psychologist or a psychotherapist.

Pain in the testicles

What if you have pain in your testicles?

If you feel pain in the testicles (strong, sudden, when touched), their size and elasticity changed, after a trauma the pain in the scrotum does not subside within an hour, the pain is accompanied by an increase in body temperature and nausea, or on the surface of the scrotum, tuberous or convex neoplasms - do not hesitate to visit a doctor. To address follows to the urologist. Testicular torsion can be detected by ultrasound diagnosis. Orchitis is not treatable, but if you did not get sick in childhood as a "mole" or do not remember it, vaccination becomes a very effective way of preventing the disease. Treatment of epididymitis is medicated and can be prolonged.

Male power is not only below the belt. Sometimes men can be strong enough to endure unbearable pain in the testicles, but they can not find the strength to overcome shame and turn to the doctor, and it is necessary to do this.
