Ovarian pain

If a person has pain in the lower abdomen, pain in the ovaries, what does this mean? In the case when pain occurs in a woman, it is customary to differentiate disorders by gender. This means that pain caused by organs common to men and women should be excluded.
The human body has a unique ability to self-analyze. In the event of a malfunction or failure in any system, a pain signal is sent to our brain from the damaged organ. If the pain signal comes from any part of the body that we can see or feel, then we can independently assess the degree of danger of the disorder, we can assume the depth of the malfunction or the degree of damage. However, the pain signal often comes from internal organs and systems, throwing our consciousness into panic. The human consciousness can hardly cope with the assessment of the degree of damage to an organ without seeing the damaged organ itself or having a vague idea of it, and the subjective perception of the strength of the pain signal does not allow an objective assessment of the danger of a system failure.

What causes pain in the ovarian area?
The ovaries are paired female organs of the reproductive system. During a hormonal cycle with a certain individual duration, this organ produces eggs and a whole complex of hormones that are responsible for changing the hormonal background of the female body. In case of pain in the ovaries, it is imperative to exclude the possibility of an ectopic pregnancy, since the developing egg can rupture the fallopian tube and lead to the death of the patient. Diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy is carried out using ultrasound and is available almost everywhere. Help in case of an ectopic pregnancy is usually surgical.
Next in terms of prevalence are sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), which lead to the development of pain syndrome. Thus, pain in the ovaries, which was caused by infection, leads to the development of ovarian inflammation, or adnexitis. With adnexitis, pain in the ovaries is paroxysmal, sharp, less often aching, can radiate (spread) throughout the lower abdomen, lead to frequent urination, have polymorphic symptoms. Self-medication leads to a change in the disease from acute to chronic, delaying the disease process ends with the development of adhesions in the tissues of the ovaries, in the fallopian tubes, with the development of extensive inflammation, it is possible to affect the entire genitourinary system. Adnexitis is diagnosed by laboratory methods and treated in accordance with the main diagnosed diseases.
Pain in the ovary area with similar symptoms may indicate oopharitis – an inflammatory process in the ovarian appendages. Since the ovarian appendages mainly serve as a place for hormone production, inflammation in the appendages may be caused by overload of the body (mental, emotional or physical), long-term illnesses that have led to a decrease in immunity, or a constant failure in the sleep-wake cycle. Diagnosis of this type of disorder is also practically impossible without the involvement of the knowledge and experience of specialists.
If there are any problems with the ovaries related to the egg production cycle, one should remember about various cysts. Ovarian cysts are usually benign. The growth of cystic tissue occurs cyclically. During ovulation, the cyst usually bursts, which causes pain associated with the release of the egg. In some women, each ovulation is accompanied by unpleasant sensations, which is not normal, but indicates a hormonal imbalance that requires correction. Normally, the size of the cavity in which the egg matures is not large, after the egg is released, the cavity (follicle) is filled with the corpus luteum, which, in the absence of pregnancy, resolves on its own. The growth of cysts during the maturation of the egg, during the formation of the corpus luteum or during its resorption is a hormonal imbalance. Pain syndromes in cysts are different and can have the character of constant aching pain, radiating pain to the lumbosacral region. In case of cyst rupture, pain in the ovarian region, accordingly, becomes acute.
Urgent care (emergency care) in case of pain shock and suspected internal bleeding is performed by surgical methods. When piercing with a probe, the surgeon examines the abdominal fluid for the presence of red blood cells, if signs of blood are found, the patient is operated on to eliminate internal bleeding. However, such complicated conditions are not common. Any ovarian cysts require careful attention from patients. It should also be mentioned that cysts come in different types: endometriosis cyst, dermoid cyst, follicular cyst. Cyst diagnostics are performed only by gynecologists-endocrinologists and self-diagnosis is impossible.
In addition to the above-described reasons, pain in the ovary area may occur in adolescence as a result of various somatic pathologies (congenital features) that manifest themselves in the process of maturation of the reproductive system of the body. Twisted cyst legs, lack of natural openings for the outflow of menstrual blood, cyst-like anovulatory growths of ovarian tissue - this is not a complete list of disorders that can be detected in the process of growth and development of a young organism.
It should be noted that pain in the ovaries can also occur with various hormonal therapies prescribed by specialists to treat various life-threatening diseases. This therapy often takes into account the development of pain syndrome as a side effect, but you should always focus your doctor's attention on the occurrence of pain in the lower abdomen.
Today, pain in the ovaries can arise both from the above-mentioned reasons and as a consequence of the development of various tumor processes, which any diagnostic center will be happy to help you exclude. Be attentive to the signals of your own body.
How to recognize pain in the ovarian area?
Each of us has encountered at least a description of pain during inflammation of the appendix, some have had an appendectomy. Only a specialist can distinguish pain coming from the appendix from pain coming from, for example, the ovaries! It should be remembered that appendicitis can be acute and subacute, therefore, subacute appendicitis inflames periodically, gives quite bearable pain and often leads to addiction to periodically occurring exacerbations, which, in turn, ends in peritonitis. The location of organs in the human body can have individual characteristics and "atypical appendicitis" can only be diagnosed by an experienced, well-trained specialist.
If the pain that occurs in a woman's body is clearly not associated with intestinal dysfunction and is not caused by inflammation of the appendix, with a high degree of probability, taking into account their localization, it should be stated that they come from the ovaries.
