Psoriasis, also known as psoriasis, is one of those diseases that have been known to man since ancient times, but still do not have a sufficient explanation for its origin and effective treatment that allows you to forget about the disease forever. But this pathology brings not only physical discomfort in the form of itching and a feeling of tightness of the skin, but also significant psychological suffering, which cannot be simply ignored. That is why pharmacology and traditional medicine have developed many remedies that can make life easier for people suffering from such a persistent and unaesthetic disease. And egg ointment for psoriasis stands out among them, because it is believed that eggs are the worst enemy of psoriasis.
There are several versions of this ointment. Some are more popular, others less so. The effectiveness of some is beyond doubt, while others are constantly the subject of debate, reaching mutual insults on the Internet. However, if such ointments have helped even one or two people to gain several years of a calm, happy life, they have a right to exist. Even if a person had to go through pain and tears, this cannot be compared with the despair and hopelessness that he previously experienced when he was unable to cope with the disease, feeling like an outcast among others.
Psoriasis Ointment Options
An egg ointment for psoriasis can be prepared from just the yolks, whites, or using the whole egg and other useful additives that psoriasis is “afraid of”.
- Yolk ointment, or rather egg oil, is one of the most popular safe and painless remedies. True, its preparation requires a large amount of raw materials, a certain amount of time and patience. The raw material for egg oil is the yolks of hard-boiled fresh domestic eggs, of which exactly 20 pieces are needed to prepare 100 g of medicinal ointment. And yet it is cheaper than popular pharmacy remedies for psoriasis.
The finished yolks should be mashed as best as possible with a spoon, bringing them to a puree state. Then put the resulting gruel in a clean frying pan without oil or fat and fry for a long time, without being lazy, constantly stirring the yolk mass. After about 40-50 minutes, you can notice the appearance of an oily liquid secreted by the yolks. This is a signal that the frying process is complete. Next, pour the yolk mass together with the liquid contents into gauze and squeeze the oil into a separate clean, preferably glass or ceramic container.
The yolk oil is ready. It should be used at least twice a day, applying it to areas of skin covered with a flaky crust (psoriatic "plaques"). The effectiveness of the ointment is confirmed by numerous reviews.
- An ointment made from yolks, camphor oil, tar and alcohol is not so pleasant to use (it has an unpleasant aroma and burns a little), but it is simple to prepare. You need to alternately mix 3 fresh yolks with a teaspoon of oil, 150 g of tar and the same amount of pure alcohol, all the time thoroughly mixing the ingredients until smooth.
The ointment should be stored in a dark place or in a dark glass container. It is recommended to apply the product to the skin using a cotton swab. It is not advisable to wet the affected areas within 24 hours of using the ointment. Ideally, it is better to wash the skin after 3 days and, having dried it, repeat the treatment "session". The procedures should be carried out until a noticeable improvement in the condition, which in unadvanced cases occurs after 2-3 weeks.
- Protein ointment for psoriasis is less popular and is used in combination with the main methods of therapy. To prepare such an ointment, you will need 0.5 protein of a raw egg (about 12-14 g), a teaspoon of honey, 10-15 g of solidol ointment or at least solidol itself, 4-5 g of fatty baby cream and 2 g of powder from dried celandine grass. All components must be thoroughly mixed and the ointment must be used in the morning and evening every day for 7 days. Then let the skin rest for a week and repeat the course of procedures again.
And finally, recipes for the much talked about and controversial ointment made from eggs and vinegar. Precisely recipes, because there are several of them:
- Egg and vinegar essence for psoriasis. In this case, we need a whole chicken egg with the shell, washed under running water. It needs to be carefully lowered into a glass and filled with vinegar essence. You need to take enough essence so that it only covers the egg in the glass. Leave this "beauty" alone for a few days and wait until the shell completely dissolves. Then take out the egg, grind it, removing the inner film, and thoroughly mix the egg mass with the vinegar in which the egg was stored all this time. The cure for psoriasis is ready.
This remedy is quite aggressive and causes a strong burning sensation, which you will simply have to endure. It should be applied only to the areas affected by psoriasis, avoiding areas with healthy skin. You should start with a small amount of ointment and individual lesions (you can apply them one by one), and when the skin gets used to it a little, the volume of ointment used can be increased.
Some authors of articles on psoriasis recommend using pork or any other fat instead of vegetable oil, but there is no mention anywhere of how the composition of fats affects the effectiveness of the drug.
- Egg and apple cider vinegar. This and the previous recipes are generally similar. Only in this case, vinegar essence is replaced by apple cider vinegar, the effect of which is somewhat softer, and the effectiveness is even higher. You can use both store-bought vinegar (only real, not flavored) and homemade. You can apply the product to the skin in a thicker layer. In unadvanced cases, remission of the disease occurs from the first days of using the product and usually lasts 3-5 years.
- Eggs and acetic acid. Two fresh home eggs should be thoroughly beaten with 1 tbsp. of any vegetable oil. In this mixture, add a little less than 2 tsp. of acetic acid and shake.
The medicine should be stored in complete darkness in a tightly closed container.
Use daily before bed.
- Yolks and apple cider vinegar. This recipe is in some ways similar to option B, but instead of whole eggs, it uses only 2 yolks, and apple cider vinegar plays the role of acetic acid. And the author of the recipe advises using unrefined sunflower oil. We prepare the remedy using the same principle: beat fresh yolks with oil and add vinegar. Put the medicine prepared in this way in the refrigerator for 4 hours on the bottom shelf, after which it can be safely used 2 times a day, applying to the affected skin surface. The burning will be noticeable, but bearable.
As we can see, there are enough options for using eggs for psoriasis to choose one that suits you. This will, of course, be a trial and error method, but it will help you choose a truly effective ointment made from eggs for psoriasis. After all, the effectiveness of eggs in the fight against psoriasis is confirmed by the reviews of many doctors who consider this remedy a worthy support for the main therapy. As for the use of egg ointments as the only treatment, according to the same doctors, such a method is unlikely to have a quick and long-term positive effect.
People's opinions about treating psoriasis with egg ointments
Patient reviews of the use and effectiveness of various egg ointments are distinguished by a huge variety of phrases and emotions. On forums dedicated to the treatment of psoriasis, ardent skeptics, not mincing words, simply "troll" those who advocate egg ointment for psoriasis, even if the latter give examples from their own lives or the lives of relatives and friends.
The most controversial are the egg ointments described in the previous paragraph under numbers 4a and 4b. Moreover, the first is called an ointment not for psoriasis, but for rheumatism, known since ancient times. The presence of concentrated vinegar in both recipes causes a sea of negative emotions.
Participants who take on the role of a leader on the forum motivate their negative attitude by the fact that the vinegar remedy causes a severe burning sensation even on the affected, keratinized areas, not to mention the consequences of its possible contact with healthy skin. It remains unclear how this effective remedy for the treatment of rheumatism is applied to the skin without causing a burn, if, according to online skeptics, it can “burn” the same skin when treating psoriasis?!
Other forum participants and ordinary readers of psoriasis websites generally speak positively about the ointment for psoriasis made from eggs and vinegar, citing real examples when this ointment provided a stable remission of a practically incurable disease for several years. Someone talks about their personal experience, another cites known cases of healing. And you start to think, they can’t all be lying, and why would they? This means that it makes sense to test egg recipes on yourself if there is a chance to defeat the disease at least for a while. It is not necessary to start with aggressive folk remedies. You can be patient and prepare egg oil or protein ointment for a start.
Egg ointment for psoriasis is a real chance to give yourself weeks of happiness and peace, if it is not possible to cope with the disease and forget about it forever. People are grateful to such recipes of traditional medicine and say that in a state of despair and "hopelessness" they are ready to endure any pain in order to get these few years of "vacation" from the debilitating disease that affects not only the body but also the soul, suppressing physically and emotionally.
