Nervous allergy becomes a topic of medical conferences. Along with this little-studied phenomenon, the term "pseudoallergy" has appeared, when the patient experiences allergic manifestations due to fear of the possibility of the disease or only at the sight of the source that causes it.

The nervous system plays an important role at each stage of the allergic reaction. The nerve tissues themselves can become an allergen source when exposed to destructive agents with the reaction of antigen plus antibody.

It has been found that the development of anaphylaxis occurs against the background of changes in the electrical activity of the cerebral cortex. The mechanism of allergy development is also influenced by the sympathetic and parasympathetic divisions of the autonomic nervous system.

What is a nervous allergy?

World medicine considers allergy within the framework of the ongoing stress condition. And this is an important circumstance, allowing to take a broader look at the existing problem, to select a complex effect, showing stable results after treatment.

Allergy on nervous soil is enemy number one in modern society. Chronic fatigue, overwork, stress, life's troubles - all this can "knock out of the rut" even the calmest person. Loss of control over oneself, hysterics, fits of rage, deep despondency, constant depression lead to skin rashes (usually on the arms, stomach, neck, décolleté) accompanied by itching. Such diseases as eczema, psoriasis can also become consequences of nervous allergy.

Allergy on a nervous basis manifests itself in the form of nausea, vomiting, headache, loss of consciousness, and, less often, bronchial asthma. Some experts claim that nervous allergy is inherited from parents to children. Therefore, it is important to be patient and calm when raising a child, thereby helping to form a healthy psyche and establish emotional balance in the baby.

Causes of nervous allergy

Allergic symptoms on nervous grounds are a phenomenon that prevails among the fair sex. Excessive emotionality, susceptibility, mental instability are also characteristic of small children and the elderly. Strong experiences, constant stressful situations can trigger allergic processes in any weakened organism.

Allergy doctors pay great attention to the patient's emotional background, because the causes of nervous allergies are hidden in it. Emotionally excitable women, for example, easily become covered in spots and start scratching themselves during moments of strong emotions. A pollen allergy sufferer, having seen a potentially dangerous flowering tree from afar, triggers an allergic mechanism with nervous emotions without the participation of the allergen itself. There are examples when an attack of suffocation began only because of contemplating a cat or a dog. There are many such cases in medical practice.

Psychological tests of such patients reveal an elevated level of experiences, severe anxiety, and a tendency to suggestibility. Along with this, attacks of irritability and rapid fatigue are observed, accompanied by physiological disorders (pressure surges, changes in heart rate, bowel dysfunction, etc.).

Thus, the causes of nervous allergies directly depend on the mental and emotional balance of the patient.

Symptoms of nervous allergy

Allergic manifestations are quite diverse and affect various systems of the body, but the most common symptoms of nervous allergies are:

  • conditions of lack of air, feeling of suffocation;
  • red or burgundy spots on the skin;
  • increased heart rate;
  • severe pallor, appearance of blisters on the skin;
  • feeling of nausea;
  • loss of consciousness;
  • gastrointestinal tract disorders;
  • trembling of the limbs;
  • uncontrollable lacrimation;
  • changes in sweating.

"Allergic vegetative storm" - the concept appeared in the medical lexicon when describing allergic manifestations localized in the nervous system. Primary symptoms of nervous allergy arise, are present, fade and renew over many years in the form of:

  • periodic fatigue;
  • depressive states;
  • feeling of drowsiness;
  • apathy and lack of will;
  • "vagueness" of thinking, imagination;
  • muscular and neuralgic pain;
  • headaches, dizziness;
  • vision problems (blurred vision).

Periods of such disorders are replaced by excellent mood and stable physical balance. However, the symptoms are repeated, and may occur along with food, drug intolerance, and external irritants.

Allergists have determined that people engaged in mental work are more susceptible to such manifestations of neurovegetative, mental, and neurofunctional allergies.

Treatment of allergies on nervous grounds

The complexity of the processes occurring in nervous allergies determines the use of complex effects. Complex treatment of nervous allergies includes:

  • acupuncture;
  • reflex manual therapy;
  • massage of biologically active points;
  • work with a psychologist;
  • principles of homeopathy;
  • use of hypnosis, neurolinguistic programming;
  • taking sedatives;
  • direct impact on the identified allergen.

Relaxing yoga and meditative practices have a healing effect on the patient. Sometimes it is necessary to eliminate the very cause of constant stress - change work, study, etc.

In patients with a pronounced subconscious expectation of a painful reaction (pseudoallergy) or psychoreflexive attitudes, improvements are observed only after exposure to psychotherapeutic techniques (hypnosis, suggestion, etc.).

Treatment of nervous allergies with homeopathy has no contraindications, and is applicable even to newborns and pregnant women. When taking homeopathic medicines, you should avoid drinking coffee, chemicals, including shampoos and gels on an unnatural basis.

Prevention of nervous allergies

This is, first of all, the exclusion of the most irritating factor. Often you have to change your job, part with loved ones. For example, a family quarrel can develop into hysteria and nervous allergy in a woman, and living in stressful conditions can be dangerous to health. Allergic symptoms are observed in some children when visiting a kindergarten or school.

Prevention of nervous allergies includes:

  • taking herbal teas, soothing infusions;
  • control of your emotions;
  • being in a good mood;
  • the ability to relax in a critical situation;
  • the opportunity to create a favorable atmosphere around you at home and at work;
  • regular exercise;
  • walks in the fresh air, trips to nature.

A harmonious way of life can help you get rid of the manifestations of nervous allergies. It is important to monitor:

  1. the completeness of the daily diet (sufficient vitamins and minerals);
  2. maintaining a healthy immune system;
  3. correct organization of work and rest schedule.

Not everyone is able to switch from a problem to positive thinking, so you need to contact a specialist in time. It is necessary to give the nervous system a full rest, which is possible with a daily routine and sufficient sleep.

Nervous allergy is a disease that is difficult to diagnose, so be sure to tell your allergist about any recent shock, prolonged stress, or dissatisfaction with life. Consultation with a neurologist and psychiatrist for such problems will also be necessary.
