Ultrasound of the wrist and joints of the hand is carried out strictly according to clinical indications. The patient usually sits opposite the researcher. Depending on the zone of interest, the palm or the back surface lie on the knees. The longitudinal and transverse sections of the structures of interest are obtained. The performance of functional samples helps in assessing the localization of the corresponding tendon groups. When examining the palmar surface of the wrist joint, the transducer is installed transversely, the flexor tendons, the medial nerve, and the ulnar nerve are evaluated.

Further, the back part of the wrist joint is examined: the extensor tendons are evaluated in the transverse plane.

When longitudinal scanning from the palmar surface, the flexor tendons of the finger flexors are evaluated.

On the side of the back surface, extensor tendons are examined.

The medial nerve can be traced from the cubital region to the wrist. If we mentally divide the cubital region into 3 parts, then the nerve will pass on the boundary between the medial and middle third. Further, it follows down to the wrist, being located medial to the long palmar tendon. On the wrist, it is located almost subcutaneously on the palmar surface under the tendon holder in the tunnel. If we mentally draw a line between two elevations (tenar and hypotenar) and then divide it into 3 parts, the medial nerve passes between the medial and middle third,
